Anyone want to set up ConBENtion II in Vegas? It'd be the perfect spot (for those of y'all of legal age) for a great party...the concert's on a Friday, at the Hard Rock Hotel (awesome place!)...things could be very cool. If you're willing, let's make this an official thread. Check it out. It's #11, and rising. Also, there's an interesting bit on the boys in the new AP (April, with Scott Weiland on the cover) in an article on music on late night shows and the increasing lack and diversity thereof. Just wondering what is up with Markus posting 3 times yesterday. Can you say he has nothing better to do. Lets not start a fight because I already had to leave the MA ( mentally anal )because of all the bickering and bitching. Ok here goes: when bff comes to memphis I am going to get an interview with all the band members hopefully, also it would be nice to take over a dozen rolls of film of them with will be done. Hey E if you want any pics after the concert I'll be glad to hook ya up. Second of all I have to get all of their autographs and such like ben's spit in a jar or darrens cigarett. Ok ok enough about the five I don't want to wear it into the ground. Anyway I was just wondering where everyone on this mailing list worked at. Well I'll go ahead and tell you that I work at the Gap. And no I am not gay (but my boyfriend is hehe) nono jk. Anywho If ya'll all plan on coming to memphis which would really kick ass, I think I could pick everyone up from the airport to cut the cost of rental cars which are such a bitch anyway. Ok ok enough rambling. Oh ya E cause you gave me the pics I decided to give in return. Call it a present. you will get it by E mail in about a week. (I've decided that every time I walk into the room I want someone to sing, "Laa laaaa, lalalalalaa laaaa, lalalalalaa laaaa...") Well, after spending last night drinking out of a bottle marked "Flammable," I talked at my poor roommate till 6 am. I had to set an alarm to wake up at 12:30 with a savage beast hanging onto my head before going off to do a poetry reading. For those of you not yet in college, think what you have to look forward to. Jon -- (a) I just got your post. Collecting spit is TOO FAR!! Now, I think odd collector's items are pretty neat, like getting a signed towel or beer bottle (or, like my roommate, the piece of candy Ben threw to her at the Halloween show) as a rememberance of a good show. Old pieces of chewed gum and clipped fingernails is just too much, dare I say it! (b) I work in a pathology lab. I split cells. It's pretty easy, but I still suck at it and screw it up all the time. I've worked as a biochemical technician for a few years in Kansas City, but this summer I think I'm getting a job at Andrews and McMeel Publishing Co., since I'm trying to get out of the science racket. So back to point (a), how far is too far? The weird thing is, the first BFF show I went to, one of my girlfriends got a sticker or something after talking to the guys and we were SO excited about it. However, the more I see them (and especially the more I get chances talk to them), little "things" seem less important. The question is, once someone you respect musically from far away becomes a tangible human-being type, does that mean that I'll never be as giddy about getting "things" from other bands that I haven't actually met and related to as humans yet? And what about those like Marcus and Amanda, who, right now, are just these cool people we know all this little stuff about, and then if Motel Art and Sinforosa hit it big... Someday, are we gonna be like, "Man, I got Marcus Kamp's beer bottle! I'll put it next to my jar of Amanda McClintock's saliva!" Hmmm.... Carrie Laa laaaa lalalalalaalaaaa... ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V1 #61 ********************************
