Kind of a wide array, I guess. Best to be prepared! Actually, very little time, so little to say. Gotta run. I think I'll walk-not in running shape anymore. Lyons" Subject: Greetings and Salutations mis amigo(a)s! Erik here. You there. Now that we have established locations, let's move on...... Today, your esteemed FL has dressed to kill in a suit. Actually, the kill part is for all the a-holes in the office who pass by me and go, "oohhhh....you look nice....whatz the occasion?" Your funeral prick. Like I can't go in the closet (to get clothes Markus) and grab a suit. Okay. Actually, I had a j-o-b interview and it looks like my email addy will be changing soon. Thank God. Let's talk $$$$$, shall we? Remember I told you about the guy running for US Senate who had all the $$$? Well, he won. So, if anybody has $6.7 million to spare, you too can win a spot on the ballot in November for a Congressional seat. Glory to God. Next topic, Sinforosa and Motel Art...... When Ben, Robert and Darren (and Doug and Tre) *finally* decide to give in to the idea of an Exclusive Rockford Files concert, these 2 up and coming bands will provide the pre-BF5 show entertainment. uh-oh. brain activity....... How about this.....BENstock..... That's right. Find a secluded venue in a secluded area and have a little festival. Bands, food, drink......FUN! Alright, you guys can discuss it amongst yourselves... Actually, I kinda of like the idea of having the guys play requests from the Rocks. Not entire songs, but bits and pieces to keep the natives at bay for the next 10 years.... Oh, and if any members of the MA(=mostly adipose) show up.....well, that's another thread..... I wan-na ROCK! ROCK ROCK ROCK Shout at the devil! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Mar 1998 13:55:56 -0500 From: Carrie Subject: Erik has finally flipped ...as if anyone doubted that eventual occurence... I just looked in the mirror for the first time today. I'm wearing an uncharacteristically lavender shirt. It makes me look like a tall seven-year-old. Shocking. I think the idea of Benstock is fantastic, Erik. Michael Bolton is in the midst of getting ready to do an all-request concert on TV, like a call-in show... I think something like that would be terribly enjoyable (especially if the act wasn't Michael Bolton -- has anybody noticed that the lack of yucky flowing locks, while definitely an imporvement, really accentuates the fact that he looks confused all the time?) with the guys. Man, I love their shows. Have I mentioned that before? Speaking of which, Case Western Reserve has this neat little "Concert Committee" thing that I'm involved in. Last semester we got Rusted Root to campus because that's what people voted for the semester before. It was indeed a beyond enjoyable show, and I'm not even necessarily a RR fan. Right now we're going through the voting process for next semester. I got BFF onto the ballot, but unfortunately, so is Our Lady Peace (*gag*), Tonic (*barf*), and Li'l Kim (Is that a JOKE?) amongst others. There are a lot of closet BFF fans here, and I'm hoping it's enough... Oh please, goodness! This could turn out to be very good or painfully disgusting. Case Western is, after all, the epitome of the ideal BFF school -- you get that many kids who were teased mercilessly in high school into the same college, and you will invariably have a large population of Angry Dwarves. Have a good day, folks! It surprises me every single time... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Mar 1998 14:13:26 -0500 From: Anne Lyons Subject: I've succumbed... I wasn't going to do it... I wasn't going to post today! I figured I would spare all of you another Lyonesque post after the ones I sent yesterday. But I just couldn't keep my big mouth shut. But I promise it'll be quick (but not quite as quick as Scott's!) I just wanted to send a public message to Sandi... We're missing your posts (ba baba baaaaa). Well, at least I am! I'm hoping tonight is a .10 beer night and we get a rollicking good post in tomorrow's RF! I'm not sure I like Loose Mail. I feel like I'm cheating by reading messages before the RF actually comes out. And I feel like I'm cheating even more by answering those messages before they are made available to John Q. Public. But then again... I like insta-info. Oh well... guess the jury is still out. Now that I have moaned about Loose Mail, I will now reply to some! Erik! Sounds like you have good news to impart! If you got a new job -- good for you! I promise to toast your new position with the next bottle of champagne I open! Finally -- can I send out a plea for more people to write in??? I'd love to hear from other people. I mean, sure, hearing from teh regulars is still fun... but let's get some new blood pumped into the RF, K? Well that's it! Guess it's time to come out o' (a little St. Pat's Day dialect) the closet and let my colors flow... >And just to set the record >straight, using the term full house does not mean that I ever willingly watched Full House (or Saved by the Bell for that matter.) I *did* have to >watch both when I was a dorm "parent" for a ballet camp one summer. But enough about my execrable tv viewing habits. WHAT THE HELL? C'mon... since when was there something wrong with Full House or Saved By the Bell? OK, they've always sucked, but to anyone up thru the age of 13 or 14, it hits home... and hits hard. I recall the days (I was 8 in 1988 too) when I actually tried to be like Zack Morris (or was it Mark-Paul Gosselaar?)- I honestly did. But that's beside the point... I couldn't wait to come home and watch reruns of the Brady Bunch at 3:30 on TBS, Saved By the Bell TWICE at 4 and 4:30 on TBS, and then Full House on Fox at 5. Now THAT's living. And who knows how many little boys had a crush on DJ or Stephanie (Stephanie, personally). And seeing how their acting skills have gotten them all to bigger and better things- check this out: (no flames, please. This is the kinda shit I do in my spare time- go ahead and laugh) SAVED BY THE BELL: Zack: probably OD'd Slater: hosted some kids' show on Sat. mornings for a while Jessie: now a filthy whore (Showgirls, The Real Blonde) Kelly: ditto, only on 90210 Lisa: I saw her on MTV this summer, I think she has a movie Screech: still on SBTB Mr. Belding: ditto FULL HOUSE (here's where it gets interesting): Bob Saget: cameo on Half-Baked as a crack addict in rehab ("YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO SUCK DICK FOR CRACK!") John Stamos (Uncle Jessie): currently the Beach Boys' tour drummer Dave Coulier: who knows Candace Cameron (DJ): Kirk's sister! Got married to somebody semi-important, can't remember Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie): who knows Olson Twins: don't get me started... Well... now that I got that out of my system, I'd just like to take this opportunity to throw out some names- DAUGHTER- Rhiannon (of course, only if yer a big enough Mac fan) SON- Elton is the greatest name of all time UNISEX NAME- DJ- we all know that's where the future's at! In the tape/CD player: BF5- personal best of THE MINUS 5- The Lonesome Death of Buck McCoy (I HIGHLY recommend this- Scott McCaughey, Peter Buck, Barrett Martin, PUSA, Robert Pollard, Mike McCready, and a bunch o' other guys) GUIDED BY VOICES- Mag Earwhig! Like Hannah with Morphene, and Shara with BNL & Jill Sobule! And who else here is in love with Kids In The Hall? Hey you Canadians, I know you're out there! No I know we like to keep up the BFF content, but I am curious to see what movies us Filers hold dear to our hearts... As a child I loved and still love all of the Muppet filcks, The best movies this year were Chaisng Amy, and As Good As it Gets, but one all time fav is Breakfast at Tiffany's.... Oh and I can't highly reccomend Bottle Rocket enough! Back on Track: I will end with a BFF dream. I was stuck in the south somewhere and in the bar downtown I met up with the boys who were stopping through while on tour... The locals, myself, and BFF were all really bored so I tried to teach them to play Euchre (If you don't know well that's kind of the point, and for those of you who do know, you know how hard it is to teach some people) Well Ben and Robert and a few of the locals caught on but Darren couldn't grasp it and well I got so pissed from trying to teach him that I made him cry...
