Delirium's fun! Re: Superdrag...Not that I have their album or anything, but they're good stuff. Now all they have to do is come to Las Vegas on said tour and I'll be one happy dwarf. It'll be good pair, Superdrag and the Five. Also, the "Anyone...anyone...something d-o-o economics. Voodoo economics," guy--Ben Stein is his name-o-- (Ferris Bueller's Day Off's my favorite non- life-altering movie) used to be a speechwriter for Nixon! Is that crazy? That explains why no one ever gets to win his money. Smart guy. My soup beckons. Sound good? (Darren, I mean. Not to be a freaky Tigerbeat-reading girl, but it had to be said.) On a slightly more serious note. . .Emily, I linked your article right up to my website. . .is that OK? I really loved it. :) It made me sad though. But REALLY super good. And finally, on a self-depreciating note. . . I dyed my hair, not to get back on a very old thread. It is extremely light blonde. It kind of alarms me. But it's not entirely bad or anything. Just sort of startling. I'm not used to people's gazes fixing on my head the way they do now! :P Hannah - ------------------------------------------ Hannah Kuhlmann - kuhl0025@tc.umn.edu **FLASHY BEN FOLDS FIVE WEBSITE** AT http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Cafe/1094/ - ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Mar 1998 18:14:41 -0800 (PST) From: ralph kyatsu Subject: cds!cds!cds! (same exact thing that happen to me with the cool in school t-shirts). ugh. also, i was merely 7 years old in 1988, but i still get nostalgic about those crazy 80s. wasn't the "anyone?" guy from Ferris Bueller's Day Off the same monotone teacher from The Wonder Years? Is his show on comedy central any good? i was so excited to see that bff is coming back to the nyc so soon for the bacharach tribute, but $50? oy, now i have to figure out a way to get one of my poor friends to come with me without buying them a ticket from my own money. comment on 'net friends: my friend's mom got into e-mail & the internet about two years ago. she went on a vacation to visit a group of friends she had made, & i thought that she was, in one word, crazy. now, two years later, i am ready to hop on a plane to meet all of you and see a rockin concert for the next conbention. it is easier to meet people on-line and talk about anything when you are just staring at your computer screen. yet, when we meet in person, it will be like we already know each other. porno name: Rumple Malina (w/ my friend's pet's name since i didn't have one) soap opera name: Gail Newport i think that's everything. yup, sounds good for now. til next time. - -shara thanks to sandi and anne for replying to my pict. inquery In the cd/tape player BFF, of course The Best of Dramarama Fountains of Wayne Jill Sobule Belle and Sebastian Barenaked Ladies ______________________________________ Monmouth County Vocational School District High Technology High School P.O. See I am in a band here in MI, MOTEL ART, and well we rock, but aren't anything big yet, not even a disk out. Just a little demo tape that anyone can own who can type me a request for it! Oh and on that kind of subject for anyone on here that doesn't have the infamous "Ben Folds Five: A Video Portrait" - You know where we find out the Ben is the true Subway spokes person- well I can make great copies at work and do it for CHEAP, so anyone wanting to trade stuff for it drop me a line, I want to share!!! Now for the CD rotation question. At this very moment I have: Sloan-Twice Removed; Jeff Buckley-Grace;(oh and a 2 disc set compiled by his mom will be out in may for those of ya who want to know!); June Christy-The Misty Miss Christy; and finally drumroll..... Ah yes how could you have guessed, a disc from our beloved boys-self titled! Amanda McClintock Unstable (get the Daily Show reference?) Now for a long P.S. list: Hannah~ I too often rotate the Brain Candy Soundtrack in my CD player Eric~ I want in on the Cult of Folds, seriously, I can be the official Kool-aid pourer, and gram cracker distributer! Carrie~ Ahmen sister! Preach on! The Files are love and love is the Files Scott~ Akane IS a great name for a girl! That was my last fishes name. Markus~ I was joking about the joke fighting you and Sandi were engauging in... so who knows who the butt of the joke is, but it's all good now, right?!?!? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Mar 1998 01:46:14 -0500 From: Carrie Subject: A band... Man, I wish I had a band to plug. It's 1:30 am, I'm doing a very good job at NOT writing a Philosophy paper on if I can really know anything, and I'm not in a band. Brak: "I'm already in a band -- the Cartoon Planet Band -- and you don't wanna be like Yoko Kimono and break us up 'cause then nobody would like you!" In high school, my friend Natalie and I were going to form a band called "Tree Tree," but that fell through when we realized all we wanted to do were Beastie Boys covers ("Yo professor, what's another word for pirate treasure?" "Why I think it's bootie, bootie, bootie; that's what it is!") using folk guitar and piano. Then some girls and I here at school wanted to start a "girl-band," but that fell through when we realized we were Smirnoffed our asses when we came up with the idea. Alas, one day, Sinforosa and Motel Art will release CDs, I just know it. I believe... Tonight I went to CDnow to get my foot in the door for the new Semisonic* CD, which is being released March 24th, and they have a "buy $20 or more and get $10 off" thing, so I went ahead and got the BFF self-titled on vinyl to fill out the 20... Is this in any way different from the CD version? Anyone know? * -- Semisonic's first full length CD, "Great Divide," is a gem in my CD collection. It's another one of those really talented and friendly yet underappreciated trios with fantastically poignant lyrics backed up by talented vox and a floating ease of musicianship... hmm... Carrie In the CD changer (if I had one, meaning the last 5 CDs I've listened to): Depeche Mode "Violator" Cowboy Mouth "Are You With Me?" The "Virtuosity" Soundtrack (I'm ALMOST ashamed about that... almost) The Bogmen "Life Begins at 40 Million" Morphine "Cure for Pain" ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V1 #57 ********************************
