I found a site about Robbie Fulks (http://www.pressnetwork.com/fulks.htm) by going to the "previous gigs-1998" page on Frank Maynard's site (http://www.oeonline.com/bff/oldtourdates_1998.html) & clicking on Robbie's name. Man, my job is *killin'* me....can I get a shout from those-y'all who just absolutely *cringe* when they think about their job?? "heyyyy.....hooooooo" Okay. First, lemme get the BF5 content outta-da-way.... My Mom, Dad, AND sister got together recently and were talking about the future member of the family currently taking up residence in my wife's body. So anyway, there were chatting about what name we would give it if it were a boy. And, of course, with them thinking that we are *obsessive fans* (yeah right, whatever....), they theorized that the kid would be named Ben. Ya'know, after Ben FOLDS>>>>yeah you knew, I am just messing with you. But, I nixed the idea. Not that I don't like the name, I just don't need the aggravation of people thinking I had *finally* taken the final step into Ben Folds Five world. BUT! On the flip side of this, for some reason I am SERIOUSLY thinking about the name Kate. Kate Anne Lyons. And no, Anne-Lyons-in-the-greater-Boston-area, this Anne is after my mother. So, any comments from the Rock Gallery? As Jen says, "this baby will be here *real* soon, and I'll be goddamned, I said a goddamned! if this baby is born without a name........ " So how is this for a thread: One suggestion, boy and girl name, from anyone who wants to add their $.02 into the hat.... And speaking of names (Dave-Doug-bo-bug).....I remember a thread started by noneotherthan the former mentioned about Porno Names. I have discovered another formula: Porno Name: First [name of childhood pet], Second [mother's maiden name] Soap Opera Name: First [middle name], Second [street U grew up on] Try that on for size! Hey, wanna talk about Dawson's Creek?? Don't even think about it..... I'd rather be watching The Love Boat, followed by Fantasy Island.....Did you hear they are doing Fantasy Island again? But w/o Richardo M. and Tattoo won't make any guest spots either..... Has anyone been watching the My Generation game show on VH-1? Who here wants to team up w/me (1987) to go and whoop some 90's arse (even those disco terds (turds?) from the 70's)? My wife is younger, so she is out as my game-show partner.... Well, I have now forgotten all my woes that I had when I began writing this post. Man, you guys and gals are great listeners. Gee. Thanks for being there. So May is right around the corner. So as often as I can, I am going to have to put a reminder that I *sure would like it if BF5 could play a show on my bday* which is May 26, 1998. Wow, that sure would be nice! OR, maybe even as a nice birthday present, an early one at that, SOMEONE could slide a little BF5 insider info my way so I could get the jump on making some plans.....Yeah, that's the ticket, that would rule. Are the hints I am dropping THAT obvious? I don't think so..... Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? I must go, but I leave you with a flashback lyric, which I am SURE Anne and Sandi (frequent answer-mongrels) will know: "What have we become just look what we have done all that we destroyed you must build again When the children cry let then know we tried When the children sing then the new world begins" Shit, I even remember the video....flashbacks.....ahh those 80's rockers... "hand me my hair gel, mousse and spray" "damn, my perm is starting to fade" yeah. it's cool. - -your FL ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Mar 1998 13:08:51 EST From: Sandibrady Subject: White Lion Rocks! Okay, so yes, I DO get this thing in individual emails...what can I say, I feel the need to hear that damn "you've got mail" everytime I do a flashsession to collect mail. :) Okay, Erik's thang was White Lion's "When the Children Cry". And Erik, I'd have to say I like the following names: Gage for a boy Dylan for a girl And since it's going to be a while until I have my own creepy crawlers, you can use them if you feel inclined to do so. - --idnaS ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Mar 1998 13:27:31 -0500 From: Anne Lyons Subject: So You Say You Want a Revolution? Hi guys! So anyhoo... just read our FL's post on "Loose Mail". Anyone else think that we need a better name for that? How about "Interesting People Saying Interesting Things Mail". Just a thought... As to Erik's "challenge" -- I'm guessing White Lion. But I could be wrong. Here's a factoid: a friend of a friend dated the drummer for White Lion (who, if memory serves, was the skankiest guy in the group). Another claim to fame for Clinton! First the Guinness Record for "Most Bars Per Square Foot", then Scott Young on the US Hockey Team for the 1992 and 1994 Olympics, and finally some chick who dated some famous drummer. What could be next? Also... can I just say that I loved E's long post? It's probably really nice that now that he doesn't have to worry about piecing all our (sometimes drunken) posts together, he can spend time posting like we do! Yippee-ki-yay! As to the name thing. I personally would like to use Kate myself... so I give it a big thumbs up. The name Anne is fine too -- well, as long as you don't spell it Ann. And no worries big guy... I'm sure everyone knows that you weren't kooky enough to name your child after *me*! For other girl names... I like Emma and Emily (Emma goes better with Lyons though), and I really like Siobhan. But I think that is better as a middle name, not a first name. I'm also a fan of Mariah -- NO, not of the Carey type... see, that's my middle name. So I get to be partial... = D As to guys names, I'm partial to Michael Joseph, Matthew Timothy and Thomas Xavier. My favorite would probably have to be Connor Michael, though... As to my porn name... I never had a pet... but if I use my Mom's pet and her maiden name... I'd be Lambie Pie Diguette. Oof. My soap opera name works out better though... I'd be Mariah Milton. Which kind of sounds like me anyway. So if I ever quit my job to go to NY and work off-Broadway in plays... that's the name I'll use! And quit picking on the people who watch Dawson's Creek! People picked on me when I watched Party of Five at the beginning and now it's getting raves critically... So there. Actually I'm kidding. I have watched Dawson's Creek... but I would not consider myself a fan. Sometimes you gotta give the mind a rest from the day...right? So bubble gum TV works for me. And you gotta admit that any show that uses Evaporated as it's closer has got to kick a little bit of ass. Personally, I may begin to protest until Fox brings back Roar! -- now that show ruled... Also, let's do ConBENtion over Memorial Day weekend... Even though we'd all love to go to a b-day bash for Erik, the Tuesday date is kind of a beating. I don;t think I can make it out to Chicago if I leave school at 3 pm on Tuesday in time for the show that night. And I'm damn sure I wouldn't make it back in time for work in the morning. But the weekend is another story... And I will seriously consider driving a big ol' van and pick people up along the way. I was not kidding about that! That is definitely enough drivel for one day! - -Anne Mariah "She was as immutable as the hills... but not quite so green." - Rudyard Kipling ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Mar 1998 14:18:36 -0600 From: "Erik C.
