If you want to be picky about it any two bands can be like chalk and cheese. I got what I expected from Garbage, aside from one or two songs, and I already said I enjoyed what I saw of the show. I can however see how to a casual observer (of which there are many at festivals) New Order would have looked like the better band on the night. They did a better gig, ok? On another day they might not have, but what the heck, shit happens. Dan. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Sep 1998 00:50:00 +0100 From: Alan Subject: Re: Garbage Were Crap at Reading.... Delete the "I really enjoyed Garbage at Reading" line from your original post it was a pretty damning report IMHO. You referred to Version 2.0 as "poppy trash" and this comprised at least half of their performance so how can you say you enjoyed it? (Bearing in mind that you missed the middle bit to watch somebody else!) > I can however see how to a casual observer (of which there are >many at festivals) New Order would have looked like the better band on >the night. I agree....it just arrived in my mailbox. alan ------------------------------ End of recycled-bin-digest V2 #101 **********************************
