Stop taking the piss! :) 42) Your least favourite remix is: The Dreadzone mixes of Stupid Girl, and as for Todd Terry. Zzzzzz. 43) Your favourite Garbage lyric is: I'm riding high upon a deep depression 44) This song from the debut album never should've been released as a single: Nope - all good singles 45) This song from the debut album should've been released as a single: Supervixen which stalled at the promo stage 46) This is your favourite Garbage video from the first cd: Stupid Girl. Sam Bayer is great at doing the se7en meets Garbage thang. 47) The list could be improved by: More posts! (as long as it doesn't go the TT way) 48) Anything else you want to say ? Nice one Kevin! Nice one son! Nice one Kevin let's have another one! Cheers Ian ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 May 1998 21:01:48 +0100 From: Ian Abbott Subject: RE: survey thyme!(part two) - -----Original Message----- From: owner-recycled-bin@smoe.org [mailto:owner-recycled-bin@smoe.org] On Behalf Of kevin Sent: Saturday, May 09, 1998 4:02 AM To: Recycled-Bin Subject: survey thyme!(part two) *PERSONAL GARBAGE EXPERIENCES* 15) Your first exposure to Garbage was(not when you actually became a fan): Hearing Vow on the Volume 12 compilation in November 1994. I'd heard that Butch Vig was working on a new project but that was about it. Being a bit of a Curve/NIN fan, hearing Vow - which blended elements of both those bands with pop - I was blown away. I wanted to hear more, much more, but that had to wait... 16) You became a Garbage fan around this time: Same time. Of course I had to wait 'til March 95 to hear the second track, Torn Apart, again until August for Subhuman/#1 Crush and then October for the album. It was worth the wait. 17) You felt compelled to buy the Garbage album because: Pretty bloody obvious. Good band, good music. 18) Where did you buy "Garbage" ? At a record store. Where else? 19) Have you seen Garbage in concert ? Yes. 20) If yes, how many times & what venues ? Twice. The first and only UK gig of Tour 1 (23 Nov 1995, Kentish Town Forum) - packed with celebs with "Subhuman" and "As Heaven Is Wide" performed live; and the second tour on 24 March 1996 at the Brixton Academy. This time, of course, I'm going to *all* the UK shows. 21) Have you ever met members of Garbage(besides at a show, ie on the street, store autograph session etc) ? Not on the street yet. Almost the other week but plans went wonky. Hopefully at a pub in the next set of UK dates. 22) Your favourite member of Garbage is _______ because _______: Shirley because she is who she is and doesn't give a shit about what others think. I like people who are forthright and don't kow-tow to anyone. That's Shirl the Grrrl. She's also gorgeous but telling her that is another matter. Don't get me wrong, I think the guys in the band are forgotten too often by the media, but heck, it's hormones here. It helps that she's Scottish and I love Scots people - virtually all my friends are Scottish and I think Edinburgh is the most beautiful city in Britain. Not so keen on Aberdeen after I had to freeze my arse off sleeping outside the railway station after a Radiohead concert in snowy, rainy November but that's another story. 23) If you could ask your favourite member of Garbage one question and you were guaranteed to get an honest answer, it would be: "Would you like a beer?" It's what Butch, Steve or Duke would say... 24) Your first Garbage musical item was(ie Stupid Girl single, friend's mixed tape w/Supervixen on it etc): Volume 12 compilation, followed by the metal 7" 25) Your first Garbage non-musical item was(ie, Melody Maker, t-shirt, sticker etc): Volume 12 compilation's accompanying book with world's 1st garbage interview. 26) If you own any Garbage clothing material, please state how many and do your best to describe it: Way too many T-shirts to mention: the mirror one, the atomic one, the glow in the dark one, tour 1, tour 2, Hollywood star... I have a garbage pin/brooch too... 27) If you own any Garbage posters/stickers/promotional flats/anything you can hang on a wall, please state how many & do your best to describe them: Everything. Posters, promo stickers, everything. 28) If you own any other Garbage items besides the aforementioned clothing, music items or things you can hang on your wall(ie, you stole Shirley's pillowcase or Butch gave you his used water bottle at a show etc), please state how many, how you acquired them & do your best to describe them: Garbage press packs. I hope to get some stuff from the band this time around (fingers crossed, eh?) 29) Do you run a Garbage website ? If yes, please give the url: Yes, the longest running site in the UK. Yep, we've had problems but I'm fixing that. Caf Montmartre - http://www.ruiner.demon.co.uk/garbage/ 30) Have you ever made your own Garbage items(shirt, patches etc) ? I have a Caf Momo mousemat - self designed if that helps 31) You would love it if Garbage worked with this musical artist: Curve - it'd be one the music press would die for 32) You would attempt to kill the band if they worked with this musical artist: Barney the Dinosaur, Vanilla, Boyzone, Spice Girls, get the picture? 33) You hope that Garbage will work with _______(director, actor etc) for their next video: David Lynch - don't we all? 34) The thing Garbage does best is: Music, attitude 35) The thing Garbage could really work on is: Getting out of the studio more - way too unhealthy! 36) Name an artist who you think is influenced by Garbage: Republicaaaaargh. Thank god that was short-lived. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 May 1998 21:08:06 +0100 From: Ian Abbott Subject: RE: 7"'s Can I be even smugger? :) I have all the 7" singles (including white labels), all THREE Milk 12" singles limited to 500 copies (the dayglo ones) plus the TRASH1X promo 12" series reissued last year, plus press packs, advances and loads more - bwa ha ha ha ha!
