Tower Records, Stonestown Galleria, San Francisco > 19) Have you seen Garbage in concert ? Yep > 20) If yes, how many times & what venues ? Once, Live 105's June 199...6? BFD 3 at Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, CA...they were pretty much the first band after like 5 bands or so to get the crowd on their feet and going wild. > 21) Have you ever met members of Garbage(besides at a show, ie on the > street, store autograph session etc) ? I waited in line for autographs after their set, got the Dance Hall Crashers' autographs and got back in my place, but after about an hour Renee Rotten (then an intern, now a DJ, don't know why I'm telling you this) told us that Garbage had a plane to catch and wouldn't be signing ::( But the guy in front of me had a Japanese cd which he had actually gotten in Japan, and that started me on the search for that cd, with #1 Crush and Subhuman on it... I'm going to see Garbage at the 9:30 Club in DC on May 27th, and it's a small enough club that hopefully they'll sign afterwards, and I can try to get autographs. Thank goodness for pre-tour shows, I don't like bigger venues for the most part! > 22) Your favourite member of Garbage is _______ because _______: Shirley! I do wish I were her, to some point, though I wouldn't say I completely idolize her. Well, scratch that, I'd bow down to her ;> I think she's beautiful, in a way that isn't stereotyped/expected in the States, and she's strong/her own person who has control (or appears to). She's feminine without coming off as a slut or completely brainless, and I admire that. > 23) If you could ask your favourite member of Garbage one question and you > were guaranteed to get an honest answer, it would be: Uhhhh...I never know what to say to people or ask when I meet them...famous or not... > 24) Your first Garbage musical item was(ie Stupid Girl single, friend's > mixed tape w/Supervixen on it etc): Argh, that was a long time ago. Um...taped songs off the radio, and then taped them on Live 105's 1995 Green Christmas from Berkeley, which everyone seems to have anyway ;P > 25) Your first Garbage non-musical item was(ie, Melody Maker, t-shirt, > sticker etc): Probably magazines, especially the Details with Shirley and Gavin from Bush...I bought a black t-shirt at BFD3, with the oval on front and pink feathers, says garbage in black (I think) and I *think* I bought the clear window sticker with garbage in pink. > 26) If you own any Garbage clothing material, please state how many and do > your best to describe it: 2, the shirt listed above, and the shirt with Shirley on the Walk of Fame with the boys in the background. > 27) If you own any Garbage posters/stickers/promotional flats/anything you > can hang on a wall, please state how many & do your best to describe them: I have the b&w horizontal poster with Shirley on the left in a sort of stripey dress, with Butch, Steve with his mouth open, and Duke, and then garbage is in pink across the bottom right. I have the window sticker, the sticker of Shirley sticking her tongue out from the cd liner, pink garbage logo patch, and stuff from GarbageZone. I have another window sticker, the G in a circle, on order...I wanted a flat when I was at BFD, I thought they were awesome! ::< > 28) If you own any other Garbage items besides the aforementioned clothing, > music items or things you can hang on your wall(ie, you stole Shirley's > pillowcase or Butch gave you his used water bottle at a show etc), please > state how many, how you acquired them & do your best to describe them: Nope... > 29) Do you run a Garbage website ? If yes, please give the url: Garbage is my absolute favorite band, yet I don't do a website!! Crazy, although there are much better sites out there anyway. I do have a Quick Reference to Version 2.0 page that I don't really intend to keep up. Quick Reference, computer-esque, Version 2.0, get it...? Anyways, it lists the promo releases and the versions of Push it, and places to buy everything online. http://members.aol.com/vr5sbloom/misc/garbage.html > 30) Have you ever made your own Garbage items(shirt, patches etc) ? Nope, too lazy, and I'm anal about buying Real Merchandise, and answering long questionnaires like these very precisely > 31) You would love it if Garbage worked with this musical artist: I want them to tour with Poe, just because their fans have a lot of crossover for some reason. I notice a lot of crossover with Tori Amos, also, but I don't think they go together as well. Besides, Tori fans would scream that she's fine touring all by herself anyway ;P > 32) You would attempt to kill the band if they worked with this musical > artist: PLEASE no Puff Daddy...although, since Trent Reznor already worked with him, and Puff Daddy crosses genres (which would kick ass if his mixes weren't so horribly obvious), so I think of impending doom... > 33) You hope that Garbage will work with _______(director, actor etc) for > their next video: I don't know, Push it was quite amazing, right up there with Queer...show more of the band! PLEASE! They're all quite interesting...your clue is cookie...I forget who directed OHWIR and Stupid Girl, since I haven't watched MTV in so long, but all of his videos seem to look the same...wait, Samuel Bayer...OHWIR was cool, and I know Stupid Girl effectively looked like Seven, but I do like some plot in the videos. > 34) The thing Garbage does best is: MUSIC! MUSIC! And they all look cool! > 35) The thing Garbage could really work on is: GIVE US THE ALBUM DAMMIT!!! ;> I know, they toured forever and then needed a break and then took forever to record...I know it's been worth it, the debut has gone two times platinum!! (IIRC, was it 4 or am I having delusions of grandeur?) But I'm totally stoked for the new stuff! > 36) Name an artist who you think is influenced by Garbage: Ummm...well I listen to entirely too much commercial radio, and don't pay much attention, so I can't remember right now...I'm always open to new music and suggestions though... > *GARBAGE QUESTIONS(B-SIDES & ALBUM QUESTIONS* > > keep in mind that these are questions about the first cd > > 37) Your favourite song from the debut album is: Vow...just beautiful... > 38) Your favourite b-side from the debut album is: Subhuman, with Trip My Wire coming in second. > 39) Your favourite remix is: Don't really have one. Been a while since I've listened to them, so the only one I ever really remember is vow (torn apart). I do like the Queer remixes though. > 40) Your least favourite song from the debut album is: Dog New Tricks. I don't hate it but it doesn't affect me as much as the other songs do. > 41) Your least favourite b-side from the debut album is: Butterfly Collector or Girl Don't Come. I don't think they're very interesting... > 42) Your least favourite remix is: Ugh. The one that annoys me the most is SG Tee's Freeze Club. I copied the track onto tape while doing my radio show here at school, since I don't have a turntable, and I wanted to talk but the track WOULDN'T END!! The last guitar riff just kept starting and stopping like 6 or 8 times!! ewww...I just got around to re-taping it without me cutting it off, but I kept thinking, "Is it over? Is it over? FINALLY!!!!!" I don't own most of the Milk remixes, since most of them don't sound like Milk anyway...and there's like 19 mixes anyway... > 43) Your favourite Garbage lyric is: Don't have one and don't feel like going through songs right now...there are plenty of lyric fragments I always like screaming or singing, though. > 44) This song from the debut album never should've been released as a > single: Milk > 45) This song from the debut album should've been released as a single: Never mind, they had enough singles and enough kinds of singles ::P ;) > 46) This is your favourite Garbage video from the first cd: Queer > 47) The list could be improved by: Well, I read all the back issues of this list, and it seems like it was closed subscription until recently...for low traffic right now, I say don't worry about it, as more people come in and discussion topics come up, the list will be fine. I suppose more refugees from trash-talk will trickle in; the flame wars are rather tame and one-sided right now, but it'll change...watch... > 48) Anything else you want to say ? OK, about that Japanese G cd...I looked for it forever, like a couple of years or something, then my uncle nearly ordered it in Japantown for $30 cause he knew I'd pay for it. As I was thinking about it, about two weeks later we went to Borders in Palo Alto and there was the Australian Vow single for $10. I happily got it and informed my uncle that I could live without the Japanese cd. Now of course, the Japanese G cds are for sale all over the net...I like my awesome Australian cd, though ;D For the record, I have all the songs except all the Milk remixes and the OHWIR single remix...I know it's not much different, but that's me being anal again. I won't bore anyone with my list of Garbage releases, as I've gone on long enough already. Merchandise is just as interesting, anyway. If you read through all this, 1) go out and get some chocolate, look away from the monitor! 2) Why did you read the whole thing? E-mail me back and tell me, make me feel loved! and 3) It took me a little over an hour to type it all out, and since you had time to read the whole damn thing, why don't you try it? ;> Okie then, I won't bug you again (much...yeah right) unless it's time-sensitive or is personal, as I have with a couple of you I've e-mailed but haven't said anything about myself...I don't feel comfy posting on trash-talk, since you know there's established posters and all there already, but I might make myself cozy here. I won't ramble so much though unless it's important. ::P If you just scrolled down here to get to the end, scroll back up and look for the secret word.
