I think that Alien Sex Fiend is really cool, very different from the other songs. A half year ago I didn't care for the remixes either. That commercial eurohouse crap that fills up our hit lists disgusted me so much that I didn't even care to listen to any dance stuff. I still hate the hit list stuff, but now I realize that there's a lot of good dance stuff. I like the Pal Mix of Dog New Tricks better than the original. But I don't like the Stupid Girl remixes. I think the last time was like December of 96 or early Janurary 97. As for the totally shite voting thing I came up with, maybe we should just like be allowed to nominate three people. Then we each get two votes. Anyone who receives three votes will be asked to join. As for the thing with like seven nominations or something and you get a free ride in w/o having to be voted on....well that seemed alright as only one person got in that way. Errrr...like LMK, k ? I already have a list of people who I will nominate ;-) Three nominations each Two votes each Each nominated person will be on the ballot Anyone receiving three votes will be invited to the list Anyone who receives seven nominations will be invited, without having to go through the voting process Sounds good ? But I don't > like the Stupid Girl remixes. I get what you're saying about the "dance" music. They are starting to play a lot of stuff that theyare like considering to be a good representative of electronic music, such as Gina G, Spice Girls, No Mercy, 2 Unlimited and crap like that. There are of course good non-eurocheese(the above mentioned artists)electronic artists, but too bad we in the states, especially where I am, are deprived of that. Getting back to Garbage, I do think that the SG remixes aren't that great and like I said before, none of them were truly great. The Milk remixes weren't bad, but I found the Siren and Wicked mixes, apart from Tricky on the Wicked mix, sounded same as the LP version. Of course I haven't like heard the Goldie and Massive Attack ones, so I wouldn't know about those. Generally, the Queer remixes have been my favorite. The sound different(unlike the Milk ones I've heard) and they also are pleasing to the ear. Just wondering, who would you like to see Garbage collaborate with ? I think something with like the Chemical Brothers or Orbital would be pretty cool in my mind. gg gggg Kevin Chan ggg gg LuvYaMira@worldnet.att.net ggg ggg http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Marina/6273 ggg ggg Milhouse on IRC ggg GO HABS ! ggg ggggg GO 'SPOS ! ggg g ggg GO VILLENUEVE ! ggg ggg COME ON YOU REDS ! ggg ggg gg gg NP: Nothing ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Feb 1997 19:15:11 -0500 From: sy8418@pcps.edu Subject: kinda gr? ~hello~ I just thought i would drop a little note to say hello and thank you to all of you who started this circle of friends. I decided to be brave and resubscribe to trash-talk well, that was a big mistake. There are so many ppl who just write stupid stuff that it isn't worth reading any of them. I'm not sure if any of you are still trashin' with them but i certainly am not. While on tt, i did have someone write me and tell me that they knew me from before. His name is Andy. I am not going to nominate him because I don't know him that well. Does anyone remember him? i can't say i do but you never know. I think his email was something like ajueng@...usc.edu? ok, if anyone remembers him, let me know via private email. I think a few new ppl on this list would be nice but it's not completely necessary. I put in a nomination for my friend Kristen so if you have questions about her, feel free to email me. ok, i guess that is all right now. Sorry it is not really gr but i just wanted to let everyone know that.
