Responding to Jennifer: > That's one of the most beautiful Tori stories I've ever heard! Thanks, > Cyndi, for sharing. Yes, Cyndi has a good story. Almost makes me wish *I* had a better one. > Okay, now a question to all of you out there: Ever heard of A Fine > Frenzy? Yeah, I have the album here somewhere, but I didn't play it and can't find it. I probably put it somewhere cool so I *could* find it, and you all know how that goes. I've heard the single and whatever songs Starbucks plays, and that's it. When I first saw the video I figured her for a person who had studied "classical" piano method because of how she articulates chords and where she likes to put her fingers on the keys, but the articles I've read on her disagree on this. Maybe she had "classical" training for less than a long period of time. > She's redheaded and her style (the constantly changing tempos, certain > musical qualities I can't quite put into words) is SO much like Tori. She seems well integrated with her instrument, plays with notable rubato, and she voices and articulates her chords in more a "classical" manner than a pop one, I guess. I've not heard any of the underlying fierceness with which Tori plays. She seems to me safe, bordering on somnambulistic. I'm glad someone sent me the CD, and I wish I could hear it someday. I've never been one to charge musicians with copying others in other than minor aspects, and I certain won't do this here. I find it interesting to note, however, that Jason Flom signed her, and he also signed Tori. I find that notable on its own terms.
