Whatever >happened to "her" anyhow? :( maybe no one asked for it. or maybe, in the context of the doll posse, it would have been out of place. though, i suppose, she did play other songs that probably didn't really make sense in the context of the posse. i think "icicle" is the absent song that most surprised me. it's such a signature song for her and even if it doesn't seem appropriate for any of the dolls, it certainly wouldn't have been out of place during the solo section. woj ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2007 13:33:26 -0800 (PST) From: Amanda Bradley Subject: [pt] Santa Barbara, CA 12.13.07 Review Setlist: Clyde: Bouncing Off Of Clouds Little Earthquakes Juarez Rattlesnakes Little Amsterdam Beauty Of Speed Tori: Big Wheel Parasol Spark Cornflake Girl Lust Black-Dove Alamo Toast Past The Mission Talula Code Red Precious Things Tear In Your Hand I live in Austin, TX but drove to Santa Barbara for this show. I had never been to California or seen the ocean or that part of the country. I ended up spending a week in the Santa Barbara area enjoying the beaches and wineries. It truly was a magical experience. I had a Platinum VIP Pass for this show, so throughout the entire concert I was in a haze from my first time meeting Tori. I requested for her to play Graveyard, so also throughout the show I kept hoping for it to come next, so I wasn't able to be fully in the moment during some of the show. She never did play my song which hurt my feelings. I understand that she only had 3 shows including mine before the end of the tour and I'm sure the request list was huge, but I asked for a song that's less than a minute long. She could've squeezed it in. During the soundcheck Tori played us Black-Dove and Spark. We waited in the theatre lobby where we were able to hear Tori soundchecking Talula. And then after our two soundcheck songs and while we were still inside the theatre and clearly able to see and hear Tori she soundchecked parts of Alamo. I had 3 row center right which allowed me a perfect view of Tori and the entire band. I took pictures with quite a bit actually coming out brilliantly. I've uploaded them to my photobucket account and anyone who's interested can take a look '>here. My favorite songs from this show were- Little Earthquakes- The look on Tori's face as she sang this song gave me goose bumps and just thinking about it gives me goose bumps again. I've seen this song before, but this performance was crazy intense. Juarez- I passed this city on my way to (and from) the show so it was fitting to have it played. I've never seen this live and I absolutely adore it, so that was rad. Clyde's hand movements were so right on and hot! In my opinion she's sexier than Santa. It doesn't really come across on paper, but live- WOW! hot mama!! So the hand gestures were during "there's a time to keep it up a time to keep it in" in which Clyde gave an air hand job (Tori saved the mic job for later) and then during "shake your gun to the rasta man's head" Clyde held up both of her hands in mock gun gesture and then pointed one of them to her head. It was rockin!! Beauty Of Speed- I am sooo glad that I got this instead of Rooster. I really love this song. Definitely one of my faves from ADP. The lighting for this song was beautiful. As she sang "see the colors changing" the backdropb would become a rainbow of colors. I thought it rad. Spark- Of course seeing this was absolutely phenomenal! Tori really belted this song out. It was super intense. It was obvious after seeing this during an actual show that the soundchecked version was simply practice because Tori pulled out the stops for this performance. Alamo- Tori's voice absolutely filled the entire room with this one. It's almost as if she was hugging us with this song. I loved every minute of it. Absolutely the highlight of the show for me. Past The Mission- I.love.this.song! And it was phenomenal!! Talula- Original version. The "I got Big Bird on a fishing line...." section was done on her keyboard (?) that was on top of her organ, but it sounded like the harpischord. And Tori stood up at that part and was all doing a jig while playing. T-o-tally rad! Tear In Your Hand- Would've been better with Graveyard segued into it, but it was very whimsical and touching nonetheless. I didn't want her to wave goodbye.
