And I can not believe it. This was after trying for every other city available today. Beginning with the TX dates, as that is where I live. I've never been to California. I've never seen Tori outside of Texas and have always wanted to. So here's my once in a lifetime chance to meet a woman who I have loved and respected for many, many years. It doesn't even seem real yet. This will be my first vacation in over 7 years, so I'm going to spend a few days before the show and afterwards viewing the city. It's gonna be grand. Anyway, I just wanted to share with all of you my good news. Peace Out, Amanda "You and me will all go down in History. I really and truly hope that every one of those gold and platinum packages went to honest fans who haven't had the chance to meet Tori before. that thought is the only thing really keeping me from raising some serious hell about this. All it takes is 15 people getting 2 tickets each to sell out entirely. Imagining that Tori "only" has a few hundred fans wanting VIP tickets in a given area... it's not hard to imagine them selling out instantaneously. Smaller cities don't sell out as quickly, but they still sell out. The allocations of the VIP things couldn't have been huge (how many people can Tori take a picture with before a show?) so of course in the bigger cites you're basically hoping to be one of the first 15-20 people to click on the link and hopefully enter the stupid passphrase. (the point at which you complete that determines your luck, hooray). I didn't get VIP tickets either. I'm fairly disappointed, but I'll live. I've done the M&G thing, and while I'd really really like to see a soundcheck (although i have a feeling it won't be anything terribly special, just a routine 3-song sound check) unless there's another show in a smaller market that has yet to be announced... I put all effort into getting stuff for Oakland. The VIP tickets, I have to believe without any doubt at all are going to Tori fans. You aren't getting tickets, you have to show up with your name on the list at willcall, and they're non-transferrable from the name of the person who has them. Even ticketmaster can't change that, I'm pretty sure the Tori store is in charge even though they had to submit to the domain of ticketmaster for handling the sales. Whether or not these are the fans that have never met Tori, or they're the kind who have seen 30 shows and been to a dozen M&G's and all that... I was on eBay this morning and someone was selling 2 Atlanta tickets, row CCC (3rd row pit) for $499. These were not even VIP tickets. I wonder if this is what it'll come to for me to get a good seat at her concert this year. *sigh* On 8/9/07, Amy Wasnidge wrote: > I too got a VIP ticket for Chicago - row BBB which is 2nd row! I sat on Ticketmaster's website from 9:00 AM this morning and refreshed every 15 minutes until the link finally popped up for Charlotte. I already had an account with Ticketmaster so I didn't have to put in all of my credit card info, I don't know if that helped me or not. Anyway, my hands were shaking as I was typing that security code thing. I couldn't believe it when it came up and said that I had two tickets. I feel so lucky to have gotten them. I had been debating for a while whether or not I should even try to get them. It was a lot of money and I will have to take a couple days off from work. But my husband and Mom both really pushed me to try. For me this will probably be a once in a lifetime opportunity. I've been to two meet and greets before and never got to meet Tori. Never even got close. Once was after a show at Virginia Tech on the Plugged Tour which I left before she came out because I had school the next day and my parents were looking at me like, "We drove you 3 hours and sat in the parking lot for another 3 hours, it's late...let's GO". And another time was during the SLG tour in Charlotte. This time it was before the show and there was a lot of pushing and a lot of not nice words being said and I made up my mind then that I just didn't want to meet her in that kind of atmosphere. So, when the VIP packages were announced I was really excited. I feel even luckier getting them after hearing what a hard time people have had. I hate that not everyone was able to get them. It still feels surreal. ~~Wendi _________________________________________________________________ Recharge--play some free games.
