Wedding rings actually go on the left hand so that the sacrament of marriage will overcome the treacherous nature of the lefthand side of the body (or so I was taught in confirmation class). Given this history, it is definitely no accident that the blood, broken shoe, and "SHaME" are on the left side and the bible on the right. And, yes, by all means, keep this list serve going.
