My wife is upset that the Royce Hall cd has "all songs written by Tori Amos" on cd 1. She being the big Bon Jovi fan finds that disturbing as she just heard Tori's rendition of "Livin' On A Prayer". Plus, with myself also being an Alarm fan, their buddy's, Jules Shear's, 'All Through The Night' is also played. Oh, and looking at the Chicago show I see no mention of Jim Croce or Joni Mitchell. As for the shows..Well the vocals really stand out here. Tori told us that she learned from Robert Plant 'you are nothing until you're bootlegged.' Tori, you out did yourself then. haves ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Aug 2005 03:19:25 -0700 From: "Tony Fernandes" Subject: Toast - Lyrics Question Okay everyone. I would like to draw your attention to Toast when Tori says: "With a toast he's telling me it's time...to let you go" She holds the word "go" for a few seconds and at the termination of the word (at 2:54) I swear she adds a "ssst" sound - as if the word "go" is now the word "ghost". Has anyone else heard this? To be honest I haven't until tonight...but it's as clear as day now that I've brought it to my own attention. And in case you're wondering, Richard....yes, this was in my car. I recently installed a new CD player that has allowed me to tweak my system even further in the pursuit of musical perfection. I can now hear nuances in all of my music that I didn't hear before (which I never thought was possible). It's hella scary good in the best way possible. :-) Tony What's more likely? That an all-powerful mysterious god created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn't exist at all? And that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and alone. - Jodie Foster, Contact ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Aug 2005 09:59:44 -0400 (EDT) From: "erinita@excite.com" Subject: Tori Live Tracks on MySpace.com Hi, I hope I'm not being redundant, but I stopped by MySpace.com today and Tori is on the front page. You can go to http://www.myspace.com/toriamos and hear live tracks from her upcoming Bootleg release (Father Lucifer and Take to the Sky). Must have gotten lost in translation. > I wonder if the "falling" Tori concert (Ithaca, 1998) is still up on > that list... or at least on the "most fun" list. Oh, that Ithaca College concert of 8 Nov 1998 it still at the top of the list when it comes to fun concerts. Erin O'Neill managed to get a photo of the rental Yamaha piano with the South Park dolls hiding its logo: http://www.oneway.com/ewf/earsfeet/oneill.html Also to be seen on that link are how gaffer tape was used to hide the logo at the next concert in Binghamton. Two non-Boesendorfer concerts was plenty. Glad they finally got it fixed. But combine Tori's attitude of trying to overcome the adversity of the piano nightmare with the wackiness of the South Park dolls on the piano and her falling square on her ass twice during the concert--once while taking a bow--it's gonna be difficult to beat that one when it comes to fun concerts. The whole place was electric anyway; it was a student- sponsored event and it seemed as if half the students at the college were working it. It was, and forgive the analogy, like a beehive at that place. Too bad security was so good there, as no one seemed to make a decent recording of it. The only one I ever encountered is unlistenable, even after I worked on it trying to get something worthwhile from it. Can't win 'em all.
