Wow you guys... the day and night were absolutely amazing!!! I must say Tori is in top form right now. Before I go any further... Tori played "Magic Man" from Heart for her first Piano Bar song tonight (22nd). I'm beside myself. I love Heart. Her story about knowing where all the cute boys were... at the Baptist Church or the Catholic Church... were so cute... and the hands up... and hands straying down. Please if anyone has a boot of this. I will sell my arm and leg to get a copy. Seriously. I can't download as quickly anymore since I've switched back to dial-up. But I would pay someone for their time if they had a decent copy of the Seattle show tonight. Tori also mentioned Seattle was the only city that could clap in time... ha ha. Funny woman... I'll write more later if I can... but, I must say... her voice, appearance... stage... lights... all were at their peak. Benaroya Hall is also a wonderful place acoustically to hear someone. I hope they have some professional recordings from this. As I said, I'll try to write more later when I can... but, I enjoyed this thoroughly... brings me back to the BfP Tour. Sincerely, Desiree ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Apr 2005 14:35:22 -0400 (EDT) From: Richard Handal Subject: Tonight Show with Jay Leno Hello, Gang: Last night's song on Leno was, quite simply, the most astonishing solo piano performance I ever witnessed Tori do on television. I know some people missed it, which is why I'm posting about this now. Because . . . Some TV markets around the U.S. replay both Leno and Conan a week later right after Last Call with Carson Daly. In other words, last night's Leno will show up again exactly one week plus two-and-a-half hours later on Friday morning next week at 2:05am in markets that carry the NBC week- later replay. This puts the Tori performance on again at 3:02-3:07am Friday morning next week. Check your local listings to find out if your NBC station carries these week-delayed replays. We get them here in D.C. I hope everyone has the opportunity to see this thing. Put out of your mind that maybe you've been watching all the TV promo so far in the U.S. and have seen Sleeps with Butterflies like nine times in the last two months--this was special in every respect. Watch and listen, and allow yourself to experience it WITHOUT PREJUDICE OR EXPECTATION and revel in every moment of it. It is truly a gift. And since I'm here, I may as well remind folks about the A&E Breakfast with the Arts that plays again this coming Sunday the 24th. The show is from 8-10am, but Tori comes on at 44 minutes into the program for around half an hour, so you can set your recorders for 8:44am Sunday and not miss any of Tori's slot. There was some weird problem with the vocal microphone which left her sounding as if she was in the next room singing some of the time, but the performance, although not at the level of last night's Leno one, was good, as were the interview segments. Any time there *are* interview segments, this *alone* makes it worthwhile. I hope that some of the techno people in Online Toriville--and you know who you are--will manage to make the video version of last night's Leno available. Every Tori person deserves to be able to see that. Wow[cubed]. She's fully warmed up in the oven now, and you Aussies have one hell of an overdue scrumptious treat coming to you soon. I envy you down there. Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Apr 2005 23:49:55 -0400 From: "Sweet Shiseido" Subject: No Summer Tour with the Band - Confirmed! After Matt Chamberlain wrote on his website that he would not be touring with Tori Amos this year, it was rumoured today that there would be no summer tour with the band... Well... someone questioned Tori about this matter at today's San Francisco Meet & Greet and she confirmed that she will *not* be touring with the band this year, and that the US summer tour will in fact be a continuation of her solo. http://www.yessaid.com/forum/showthread.php?p=44990#post44990 xoxo, Angela/ Shiseido & Jason/ yessaid t o r i p h o r i a ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V10 #88 *************************************
