He had like 10 guitars on stage with him. How odd, eh? - --- Johnny Endicott wrote: > > That's an interesting question! If Tori were concerned about people on her road team hitting on girls, she'd have had concerns about more than just Steve Caton and could have drawn straws as to which one to fire first. And that's all I plan to say about that. Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Mar 2005 09:18:54 -0800 (PST) From: lou fauxbel Subject: RE: Adrian Belew Hi, I heard that Adrian had worked with some Christian acts. I dug a little and: To help realize his musical vision, Kevin Max collaborated with a dynamic group of musicians. He co-produced the record with King Crimson's Adrian Belew (who produced Jars of Clay's "Flood"). Bassist Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel), drummer Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos), guitarist Owsley (the band Owsley, Amy Grant), multi-instrumentalist John Painter (Fleming & John, dc talk), and programmer Cinco Townsend form an impressively credentialed list of players. During winter and spring Jars of Clay recorded their debut album for Essential and released the album in May 1995 following their first real tour on which they opened for PFR and Brent Bourgeois. An intern at Essential, who was a good friend of the guys, happened to be the niece of improvisational guitarist and prolific songwriter Adrian Belew. She delivered the Frail demo to him and he was very impressed. Belew had also been investigating the Christian faith, so he decided to produce a couple songs for the album. His previous collaborations with Laurie Anderson, The Talking Heads, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, Frank Zappa and longtime involvment with King Crimson, not to mention many solo albums, made him a primary candidate for producer. Six degrees of Adrian Belew? Have a great weekend, LOU ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V10 #60 *************************************
