It's been a while since I've been smitten with any of Tori's albums...but The Beekeeper has managed to do so. I have to say Toast is by far my favorite song. I've been listening to it over and over and over again. By the end of the song I have tears rolling down my cheeks. Having been a huge fan since LE, it hurts me to say that most everything after BFP has failed to inspire me as much as her first 3 albums. Not to say I don't enjoy the newer ones, but they pale in comparison on an emotional level for me. It gives me GREAT pleasure to have made such a connection with this album in such a short time. I'm hopefully optimistic that it will continue to grow on me and I can once again feel that intimacy with Tori's music that I have longed for. Thank you, Tori! Tony What's more likely? I've been thinking of you, Tony, as I played Beekeeper each of the first two times I've heard it. I blasted the hell out of it the first time, and found it sonically striking in the extreme. How's it working for you on your nutso car stereo? Is this not *the* most aurally startling album? The second time I played the album was in *my* car, but the stereo there is mediocre. It's an entirely different album from the one available on a swell stereo. What polar opposites. I feel bad for those who have only pitiful portables or iPods. If your body isn't feeling this album, you're really missing something important. And I liked it a lot in my car, but I knew what was missing, as I'd already experienced it in the house. > I have to say Toast is by far my favorite song. It was the main song that moved me first, too. I almost lost it the first time. This is a thick creme brulee of an album. It's gonna take a while to digest all of it. If I don't get tickets to this concert there will be no reason to live! I saw Matt Nathanson when he opened for Howie Day last year in Portland. He was VERY good and I got to speak with him a little after the concert and he's a super guy as well. Tony What's more likely? Matty *is* a super guy; he once did me a kind favor. And I think he's a great fit for being an opening act for Tori and I think most people will like him. He needs to cut out the fast food, though. :-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Feb 2005 14:07:26 -0500 From: AKlink8489@aol.com Subject: anyone get Chicago tickets? they can't be sold out in 2 minutes...if not less? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Feb 2005 13:29:59 -0500 From: "Jennifer Lauren Heliste" Subject: Re: original sinsuality pre-sales I tried to get tickets to the detroit sale and 2 minutes after 1:00pm, it told me there were no tickets left! This was my *worst* presale experience ever. Did anyone else have problems? Also, did anyone else notice that after about 5 minutes, the price went up? Maybe that was only for the Detroit show... I'm *very* disappointed. I didn't like this presale at all...it was better with the passcodes through ticketmaster. I couldn't get tickets this time! Where was DC at? I didn't see it there. I think that website is a small server and to many people were trying to get on. That site handled the presale for Madonna last year and that presale was a tragic mess as well. I unfortunately have not been able to see Tori since the Plugged 98 tour. Since I've recently moved to Richmond, her show in DC got me really excited, and I started scheming to have my friend (who got me into Tori to begin with) come spend the week with me so we can go see the show. However, I don't know a lot of how this stuff works, ie what are pre-sales, and anything else reguarding the tickets (how many are available, seating vs. gen. admission, etc.). Could somebody explain this stuff to me? I have a chance to see Tori with the one person I've wanted to see her with, and I don't wanna screw it up :) ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V10 #40 *************************************
