And there hasn't > exactly been a deluge of promotion. Actually, has there been any at all? I saw a TV ad once here in the U.S. Took me by surprise. That's all I know about its promotion. When I went to Tower to buy both it and the new Alanis CD at midnight when they were released I saw several dozen copies of the DVD on the cart they wheeled out, so they were expecting a fair number to be sold. It's funny that 13,723 units of a DVD made it number two for the week and Tales, as I recall, sold around three times that many in its first week and wasn't anywhere near the top of the charts. And I have to say, the price was good. I paid $13.99 for the DVD which of course included the six-song CD. If the companies keep prices down people will be tempted to steal things less often through copying. I can't help but wonder how many DVDs they need to sell to make money on the thing. I don't know how anybody makes any money in this business. BTW, anyone with even a passing interest in music and good music being given a chance in the market would be informed--if distressed--to watch the hour-long episode of the U.S. PBS network's documentary series Frontline entitled "The Way the Music Died." The streamed version can be found here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/music/ Creepy stuff.
