My guess is that she gets more than an average celebrity as she deals with controversial, emotional, and religious issues. There are many sick people in the world." - ------- Just thought I'd pass on what Tori said about stalkers in the January 2004 edition of Q magazine: Question: You're no one in the entertainment business until you've got a couple of stalkers. What's the strangest experience you've had with an obsessed fan? Tori: The stalkers can get a little harrowing. Sometimes they do get violent, so I'm not gonna downplay that. When you've got FBI people calling and saying you're at risk, you can make a joke about it because of nervousness, but it's really not funny. But it's a little stranger when you're on a plane in schmoozy class, and you're with your new kid, and you're next to this person who's made their money in computers. And for seven hours, they're drinking and telling you everything that you should have done in your career. And husband is sitting there ready to shove yoghurt up his ass. You can't get rid of them because you're thousands of feet up. Thankfully he drank enough to knock himself out. - ------- Regards, Dan ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 May 2004 00:53:45 -0400 (EDT) From: Richard Handal Subject: Re: What ever happened to Mr Caton? Velma spoke: > I've seen the footage from the church in Delgany on Trio. Indeed, there was a short (12 minutes?) video promo thing for Pele with some footage from the church sessions, and off the top of my head I don't know what additional bits may have come out mixed in with other things. I don't believe I ever managed to get a copy of the Trio thing. If it was more than a few minutes of that stuff I'll be surprised, but I hope I'm wrong; and I apologize for not being more clear. When Tori was telling me about this she made it sound as if there was a whole bunch of it they were then planning to include in a long-form documentary as part of a DVD release at the end of '99. I told her I'd heard there also was footage that had been shot backstage during the DDI Tour and asked if that was true and if it might be included in this documentary and she said yes to both. This was at the end of the '98 tour. She said she wanted to show more of the creative process, but not so much that all the mystery was removed. (I laughed and said I didn't think there was much danger of that.) As of early September 1999 there had been no recent hints that this thing was about to see light of day anytime soon, and I asked her if the DVD she'd been talking about at the end of the '98 tour was really going to come out. Her reply was telling: "*I* don't know. Things change really fast around here." (This had not gone unnoticed by many of us.) I found her usage of the word "here" to be highly conceptual and amusing, as she was clearly not referring to the cornfield we were in the middle of, 45 minutes northeast of Indianapolis. Such a Leo she is. :-) With her not being on Atlantic now, etc., I imagine if much more of this stuff does ever come out anywhere it'll be well down the road in some sort of career retrospective. All I can think about that is we should all *live* so long. If anyone would send a copy of the Trio thing I can respond in kind. And you'll make it onto my list of the darned swell. :-) Thanks. Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 May 2004 16:36:53 -0400 From: ToriVolta@aol.com Subject: Re: What ever happened to Mr Caton? Actually on Yahoo's Launchcast (a site where you can make your own radio station), you can watch a variety of Tori's videos. The video that is labeled Boys For Pele (which we all know isn't a video) actually shows some of the archives of the Boys For Pele recordings in the Delgany Church. It lasts 7 minutes and 41 seconds. It is super cute and it was very informative to me. A must for any Toriphile. Peace Out, Amanda ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V9 #64 ************************************
