I thought that's what this list is for...talking >about Tori and things Tori is doing... yes, it is for that and, i confess, i did forget to send a reminder to the lists (here, torinews, toritour) and to post something on toriamos.org (we're kinda in tori downtime so i'm not in that hyper-news mentality right now -- oops), so sorry to you and to anyone else who missed the show for that reason. still, checking the dent and a few other tori news sites regularly is not a bad habit to get into. mikewhy's a lot more tireless than me when it comes to this sort of thing! ;) >So anyway, thanks Shana, for letting us know! I wish I had checked my >e-mail earlier, cuz I missed it, so, was it good? i've only had a chance to watch the interview bit so far. it was actually a pretty good appearance, from what i've seen. it started with a short clip about tori's history -- the albums she's released, etc. -- which lead into the interview. they talked a bit about her "crazy" fans (sigh), where she used to live in los angeles (not far from the broadcast studio where they were), and about tash. tori told ryan, like she told sharon osbourne earlier this year, about how she teaches tash piano dressed up as "mrs. paris". she also told a pretty funny bit about tash calling up room service and ordering champagne one night when they were at a hotel. there was a bit more, i think, but it's all i remember right now. i switched over to the basketball game (yeah, yeah, yeah) about then so i've yet to see which song she performed. i guess people could vote for which one online since the show is shown live out in l.a. the choices were leather, silent all these years, crucify and winter. they narrowed it down to the first two (rather quickly which was strange). i dunno why the choices were all songs from _little earthquakes_ -- but then, i don't know why she only performed those songs on the talk shows when she was out pushing tales of a librarian. woj ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Apr 2004 16:53:35 -0400 (EDT) From: Richard Handal Subject: Re: Tori on Seacrest?! There's also the ToriNews list I would suggest people sub to if they want to make a point of getting notification of the events as they arise. It can be subbed to here: . It doesn't bring one "all" the news, either. A fantastic human being named John Stewart runs ToriNews. I used to post news info to it all the time to the point that I once heard John tell someone that 20% of all ToriNews posts were things I'd sent in, but once The Dent came to be clearly the best place for the most reliable one-stop shopping for news items and pretty much everyone who had any online access at all had not only email access but web access as well, it seemed redundant and risked my coming across as being self-important for me to post item after item on ToriNews having simply copied it from The Dent. This "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" appearance has been known for weeks--I knew it was going to happen back in mid-January, and it was more than a few weeks ago that the exact date was announced. In August 1998 when The Dent's server was shut down for ten days because the web host was having a security problem, I heard Tori tell Michael that her tour crew was complaining to her that they couldn't check it to see the upcoming tour dates as they'd come to rely on being able to do. (As if Tori were an internet security expert--funny stuff.) I think for anyone wanting to know what's going on with Tori Amos to not go to The Dent at least once a week is like always buying all of one's groceries at their local convenience store and ignoring the gourmet supermarket a block down the street. If someone wants to live their life that way that's fine, but I can't see then complaining they aren't eating any smoked salmon. There are all manner of interesting items on The Dent which never make it to the lists. It's far more than worth the time it takes to go there once a week and look it over. One can quickly check the start screen and see the date the site was updated. We're incredibly blessed in this online Tori community to have something like The Dent. It's free to use it. It takes mere seconds to check it. http://thedent.com > So anyway, thanks Shana, for letting us know! I wish I had checked my > e-mail earlier, cuz I missed it, so, was it good? The Dent has a full transcript of the interview and 20 screen shots here: http://thedent.com/more.php?id=1457_0_1_0_M :-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Apr 2004 20:15:42 EDT From: ToriVolta@aol.com Subject: Re: Tori on Seacrest?! Precious Things, I am a faithful Dent reader. I read it every day (even if there are no new posts), and actually have it set up to when I sign onto the Internet it comes up automatically. This annoys my husband, but it allows me to never miss a day of my Dent fix. :) Late at night, when Insomnia is keeping me company, it's all I do. After all these years, I still haven't read or seen everything on it. Amazing. Simply amazing. I periodically write Michael and thank him for it. I'm not sure why any of you would even want to know this info., but I felt the Dent needed some love. I didn't know about this either, but luckily my Tivo recorded it because Tori was listed as one of the guests. Amanda I am so sorry you missed it! It was good, the interview was GREAT, and like always she did Silent All These Years but it still got to me. I could probably make you a tape of it if you wanted, but im a real flake sometimes. But if ya ride my ass I'll do it! let me know. Sorry for everyone who missed it, i would've been so upset if I had. Shana ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V9 #47 ************************************
