I post every once in a while. It would be wrong of me to not post since I was blessed to see tori in vegas and in la. i have to go to a wedding tonight so i can't go to the sd show. so those of you going have a wonderful time. i read all of the "third leg tour blues or whatnot" and i didn't know what to expect. i however had a great time. the joint and the greek are both great venues and it was practically ideal. my seats were great for both. and the screens were a dream. i loved hearing songs that i've never heard live before. some of those were "professional widow", "seaside","mary". i also loved hearing my old faves "take to the sky", "precious things", "cornflake girl". i felt that out of the two nights i saw her she'd play a good handful of songs from different albums. boys for pele songs showed up a lot in vegas and songs from the choir girl hotel showed up on the la night. but of course she didn't limit it to just that. i enjoyed the covers and "tombigbee" is just delightful. i will say this, after the la show, i've just grown to respect her *that* much more as a performer, a artist, a mom, a wife, a woman, a human being. i know i'm gushing but it wouldn't be right for me not to say thanks. and i just thought i'd say it in public. have a great august everybody. hugs and pumpkins. peace linner out. -z- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 03 Aug 2003 03:31:25 +0800 From: "Ali E." Subject: LA show, b-sides galore Wow, I had a great time at the concert last night. The weather was nice, the open air arena prevented the boomy bass that plagued some of the previous shows I had seen. I was very happy to hear some of the old b-sides. She played Sweet Dreams, Upside Down, and Take to the Sky. She also played Professional Widow, a song that I don't think I had heard live before. She seemed like she was very happy and had a lot of energy. I hope someone taped the show. I finally had a decent seat toward the front and to the right. I was close enough to see her shoes with binoculars. They were brown, but the sole was red. They also had little chains dangling from the inside buckles. I don't know how she plays the piano with such long heels; they must have been around 4 or 5 inches.
