How very interesting... thanks, Richard! :) - --Noelle http://datura.net ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Jun 2003 05:16:13 -0400 (EDT) From: Richard Handal Subject: Raincoat correction Hello: I wrongly posted that the live Famous Blue Raincoat released on singles in '99 was from the Binghamton concert of 10 Nov 1998. I now realize it was not performed at that concert. I knew she'd performed it as a request for someone I was traveling with because of his request that day, but she didn't actually *play* it until the next concert in Rochester on 12 November. I was provided with a tape of that Rochester concert and can verify the released version was not from that night, either. According to Sped Erstad's tour stats site, Raincoat was performed six times in '98: . The first of those was in Santa Barbara on 20 September. If she was correct in her spoken introduction about its having been the first time she performed it on that tour, that would be the date of the released recording. Maybe it was windy in Santa Barbara's County Bowl. I can't otherwise account for the off-sounding piano, but it would have been her Boesendorfer after all. Not expecting anyone to Crucify me for this, but for those who care about details--there you are. Sorry about the confusion. Sorry about the confusion. Richard, you are just getting sloppy these days. Your inability to tell the ambient temperature and atmospheric density of the air in the auditorium after hearing one note of a bootleg recorded in someone's back pocket at the far end of row ZZ is simply embarrassing. Get to the back of the class! ;o) Pete xx "Captain Scarlet is indestructible. You are not. Remember this.
