I only have one of his CDs, Dog Eared Dream...but I like it very much. He was awesome live...almost as good as Howie Day in my opinion. Musically, I prefer Howie, but Willy Porter seemed to connect with the audience on a more personal level. Anyone else remember him? Tony What's more likely? That an all-powerful mysterious god created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn't exist at all? And that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and alone. -Eleanor Arroway, Contact ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 20:25:18 -0700 From: "Tito Balleste" Subject: Re: Top 10 favorite albums Hi all - In no particular order and omitting the Tori albums (subject to change depending on jogs of memory) Disintegration - The Cure Fumbling Towards Ecstacy - Sarah McLachlan Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea - P.J. Heh. > Just picture two stoned EWFs driving around downtown San Jose way > too long and then barely making it into the venue in time. Is that > funny? Sure it is. You may remember that Violet and I breezed in to our seats about three minutes before Tori came onstage that night - we tapped you on the shoulder and confessed we'd gotten very very lost on the way to the venue - by FOLLOWING the venue's web-site directions! We didn't even have the excuse of being stoned - we were just very very lost and as a result, almost late. > The Roadside Cafe was an embarassment of riches: Black Swan; Yes, > Anastasia; Etienne; and Josephine. It's funny, because in the days leading up to the San Jose shows I felt certain she was going to play Anastasia. I kept hearing it. But we didn't get it at either of the shows and we didn't go to the Sac show. So what does Tori do? Play it in Sac. Arggghhhh. Along with Black Swan, which I also don't believe I've ever heard live, though i could be wrong. One of these days I need to compile a list of the songs I've heard live. > (Can you really blame people for expecting Seaside in SLO or Santa > Barbara?) Well, no, but I also thought she'd play "Rattlesnakes" in San Jose - given that the city's mentioned in the song. I was happy enough with "Strange Little Girl," though. ;) I'm with you - night two was fantastic.
