I don't know about anything else, but I believe the postcards were $6. Tony What's more likely? That an all-powerful mysterious god created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn't exist at all? And that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and alone. -Eleanor Arroway, Contact ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 16:01:28 -0700 From: Brian K Tanaka Subject: Re: weird 'wild oats' tori sighting. This reminds of the two April Fool's Day articles I drafted and then rejected (because they weren't convincing OR funny) that revolved around another food-related Tori play on words: Scarlet's Wok. The first article was about Sony announcing a chain of restaurants called Scarlet's Wok against Tori's wishes, and the second was about Tori and Mark themselves opening a little Pan-Asian Scarlet's Wok restaurant in Cornwall. I've had that stupid Scarlet's Wok thing stuck in my head for months and thought the 1st would be the obvious time to pounce. Oh well. Plus, I can't imagine that no one else has come up with the idea anyway. :-) - -- - - Brian Tanaka - - Thunder Wishes, Fire Thought: http://www.well.com/~btanaka/tori ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 16:51:12 -0700 From: Brian K Tanaka Subject: Bosey Love in Spokane On Sun, Apr 06, 2003 at 02:59:23PM -0400, Richard Handal boldly wrote: > > If you have video of any recent concerts, Brian, watch when she first > comes out. If you're at the correct angle you may see her do this before OK. Last night in Spokane I paid special attention to Tori's piano patting... o First approach (beginning of ASF): No pat, just a hand press o Post Iieee: Single big pat o First encore: Too emotional and Tori-high to notice (me, that is) o Second encore: Too busy dancing (Tori, that is) Now that I think about it, the "lingering hand press" is what I most often see. But, as we know, I haven't been paying careful attention to this one particular detail. At Dallas 01 she gives the Boesey all of her attention for a few seconds seconds and really leans in and pats it -- I mean, it looks like she's going to feed it a sugar cube or an apple or whatever the proper treat for a horse is (I'm sure Becka knows). In any case, there's a copy on its way to you, so you'll see what I mean when you get it. If I can usher my thoughts into some sort of comprehensible order, I'll post a full review of the Spokane show later. - -- - - Brian Tanaka - - Thunder Wishes, Fire Thought: http://www.well.com/~btanaka/tori ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2003 17:33:18 -0700 From: Violet Subject: Re: weird 'wild oats' tori sighting. Well, sadly, I knew full well what I was doing, bad puns being a very convenient form of humor for me to fall back on. (If I get on a roll, you don't want to be around me.) That was the whole reason I ordered the dish that day, putting the emphasis on "Tori" as I did. My wave of apparent recognition was actually a look of amazement that my groaner pun actually got a laugh, which was nice. My mom and friends usually just roll their eyes at me, so any response other than that is a delightful surprise. :) Violet xoxox ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Apr 2003 13:21:39 -0400 From: noam tchotchke Subject: toriamos.com newsletter >From: Tori Amos >Subject: Order "a sorta fairytale" DVD Now And Get A Free "Scarlet Stories" CD >Date: Thu, 10 Apr 2003 13:08:20 -0400 > >TORI FANS, > >Tori's critically acclaimed single, "a sorta fairytale," is now available >to own for the first time ever on DVD. After calling everyone I knew that I could possibly want to spend two hours in a car with that would remotely like Tori Amos who didn't come to the two San Francisco shows with me in December who would want to drive two hours on one day's notice to see her, I ve come up empty handed. So I'm at the mercy of you all, and I'm sure I'll be bombarded with emails over this, but the extra seat is: Row 1, Seat 25 (Orchestra) [yes, that's right] I'll be asking $55, which is what I paid for it. And don't be a freak because I still have to sit next to you :).
