I had not realised until seeing this program that Billie was born in Baltimore. It's possible this has yet to air in some parts of the country, so keep an eye out for a program called "Independent Lens" with the documentary title "Strange Fruit." It wasn't a coincidence. They're being silly with a play on words, like the way Ben & Jerry's has a flavor called "Phish Food" for the band Phish. :) Before a Tori concert a few years back, I was out having dinner with a couple of Tori friends and the special of the day was "chicken cacciatore," which I ordered and then turned to my friends and said, "It must be an omen - -- gotta have the caccia-TORI before the show." It got a much bigger laugh than it should have. Our memories of this event differ slightly. :-) I recall breaking into hysterical laughter as soon as your order left your mouth, Violet, as a wave of apparent recognition of the pun you'd just uttered came over your face. After I laughed our lunch mate said something to the effect of "Everything's a [Tori] reference." 14 July 1996 it was. And it's surreal typing this as I listen to live machine gun fire coming out of my television from Baghdad. I had an odd Tori sighting...I was watching Made the other day. It was the one where they turn the drama girl into a cheerleader. Well at this part toward the end, I noticed that the background music was part of Gold Dust. It was where she was ending her training, and saying goodbye to her trainer, and all that. Just thought it was an odd place for Tori music to appear.
