"virginia" popped out in syracuse (i'll post about that show later today, i hope) which was nice. neither "scarlet's walk" nor "don't make me come to vegas" have made appearances lately and the much-neglected "another girl's paradise", even if it's not a song that strikes me very much, would be nice to hear. bottom line, though, is that i think she sticks to the same group of songs fro the new album too much instead of mixing things up a bit. granted, "a sorta fairytale" and "taxi ride", as singles or emphasis tracks or whatever the record company calls them these days, are pretty much automatic for the setlist, but it would be nice to get some representation from the other equally good tracks from the album rather than "pancake" and "sweet sangria" every night. i know, i know... *whine* ;) woj ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Mar 2003 13:08:30 -0500 From: noam tchotchke Subject: Re: albany oh, i forgot to mention the sound in albany. not that bassy, but pretty muddy and the piano was lost in the din a fair amount. also, there was this annoying buzz in the left speakers that lasted most of the way through "a sorta fairytale". fortuantely, it disappeared quickly -- strangely enough, right after a shorts-clad dutch-looking fellow with a backstage pass ran across the front of the orchestra and cocked his ear towards the array. ;) woj ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Mar 2003 16:53:01 -0500 From: noam tchotchke Subject: tori in san antonio - april 25 thanks to missy for the head's up... "virginia" popped out in syracuse (i'll > post about that show later today, i hope) which was nice. neither Funny. I've been mulling over which SW songs I'd like to hear during the upcoming shows and "Crazy" has been near or at the top of the list. So, it looks like we're both rooting for that one. "Strange" too, at least for me. As I've mentioned here before, I'm a big fan of "Your Cloud", but I *did* get her seven times in December, so if another were to appear instead, I wouldn't mind. > "scarlet's walk" nor "don't make me come to vegas" have made appearances > lately and the much-neglected "another girl's paradise", even if it's not a > song that strikes me very much, would be nice to hear. All three of the above would be nice indeed. Especially Scarlet's Walk. I must say though, the SW song I most want to hear again soon is "Gold Dust". If there are any doubts that GD is one of Tori's finest songs, just listen to that rendition in San Francisco again. Interruption at the end aside... truly magical. According to toriset.dyndns.org, she's only played GD three times all tour thus far. That makes her the third least played SW song with only AGP (twice) and Operation Peter Pan (once) less played. > bottom line, though, is that i think she sticks to the same group of songs > fro the new album too much instead of mixing things up a bit. granted, "a True.
