I'm pretty sure that's first row, so I'm pretty excited. :) I think the rows in front of what appears to be "A" on the seating chart are just the orchestra section that appears to be part of the stage, but then I have no real clue. LOL. I'm wondering about that myself, so if anybody has a better idea of that... pass it along. I'm very excited though. I missed a few minutes of class, but I got the tickets I've wanted for so long. (At least, I think so! ;) Hope to see ya'll there! ~~Meg ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Feb 2003 14:16:58 -0500 From: iTard Subject: tulsa presale it's finally working! the puchase link is http://premier.startickets.com/StarTickets/r.asp?nt=BRD23MAR03&sc=BRD23MAR03 woj ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Feb 2003 14:39:56 -0600 From: "Andrew Johnson" Subject: tori/cinderella comparison Hey guys, I have to do an English paper on a common cultural narrative and I'm using Cinderella. I have to use it and make some sort of a statement about it, or compare it to a more recent example. I was thinking about comparing the themes in the Cinderella story to Tori's music. These were my ideas. Little Earthqaukes represents Tori's feelings of oppression, just as Cinderella experienced when her stepmother and sisters treated her horribly. The theme of Under The Pink discusses women's relationships and the competitive, sometimes violent aspect of it. Some version of the Cinderella tale have the stepsisters actually dying. I also think the whole stepsister theme fits with Under The Pink. Certain songs on Pele, such as Talula, discuss celebrating after a loss (how Cinderella overcomes and finally gets to dance at the ball). Gender roles are displayed in Cinderella and are no stranger to Tori's music. Do you guys think this would be a good way to go about this paper, or do you think using Tori is just a dumb idea. I'm open to any other suggestions you all might be able to give. Thanks! I'm very excited about this concert, because the Opera House looks awesome. I think that both of our seats will be a bit to the left, but from looking at the Opera House site, they're going to kick ass! Have a great time, Diana - --- Megasus wrote: > Hey, > > I got Orch A seats 14-15... (except the prince's kiss doesnt wake her, she wakes herself) or the little mermaid (silent all these years, girl you don't need my voice girl you have your own, what if i'm a mermaid in these jeans of his, etc) totally unrelated to tori, but i highly recommend "the cinderella casebook" by alan dundes (if you haven't already read it). it's a collection of folklore/literary essays on the cinderella narrative. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V8 #40 ************************************
