Kenney" Subject: CDs in Taiwan and China Well, I AM a Taiwanese, and is Taiwan and China the same country or not? That's too political..... and I just don't want to explain here :) And I'll do some explination of Taiwan's situation. As for China? Never been to there, not for sure. Yes I have to admit you will find lots of pirates here in Taiwan and China. The situation is a LOT more serious in China than in Taiwan. In Taiwan's most famous night markets, you'll only find the most popular foreign CDs.... and believe me, Tori is not at all popular here in Taiwan. The most often seen pirates are big names, such as Spears, Carey etc., and those foreign singers who do the promotion around Asia. And of course, if you want to buy the "less famous" foreign CDs, beleive me, you still have to go to the record store. I have every official Taiwanese releases of Tori, from the very first Little Earthquake, and the last Scarlet's Walk. Especially the Limited Edition of SW has a DVD code especially for Taiwan (zone 3), the record company here (Sony Taiwan) releases only 1,000 of the limited edition. I actually had a hard time to get myself the limited one.... Yi-Jia Wu ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 05 Dec 2002 09:51:14 -0500 From: "Eric D. Kenney" (by way of dances with virgos ) Subject: Tori on Studio C Question/Request Hello everyone, I was hoping someone will be able to record the Studio C session today, here in Boulder, CO on KBCO. http://www.kbco.com/studioc/ For those of you unfamiliar with Studio C, it is a short (usually 3-5 songs) completely acoustic concert set. Often there is a small interview associated. More often than not they are incredible performances. Also as an added bonus KBCO records the set, but usually only plays selected songs, but there is a good chance that a track will end up on the Studio C Volume 15 compilation (Volume 14 comes out this weekend). Anyway back to my request, hopefully someone can record it. It would be most preferential as far as quality is concerned if is someone here in the Denver-Boulder Metro area can record it directly from the radio (97.3FM). However, KBCO broadcasts over the internet. There is also a webcam for Studio C performances as well. If you go to http://www.kbco.com/listen/live.html you can listen via the web, go to http://www.kbco.com/studioc/ to see the webcam. I unfortunately have a final today at 2 until 3:30, so I will be unable to listen and therefore record it. Thus my request. Well actually even if I was able to listen, I don't have means of recording, I don't own a cassette player nor a CD-Burner, or any software to record a streaming show from online. So any gracious souls out there who would be willing to help those of us in need would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance, Eric ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V7 #290 *************************************
