November 10, 2002.. what a great day. :) let's just cut to the chase here. I met up at the Disco Diner with a fellow GA fan and we chatted and then tromped over to the Civic Center with her, her friend, and my mom.. I bought my merchandise and then gave it to my mom so she could hang onto it for me and I wouldn't have to.. my mom rocks. :D anyway, Howie Day.. the opening act.. was actually really good.. REALLY good. I just may buy his album.. :) he played guitar and sang and the kewlest thing was he'd play and somehow record him playing or singing or beating on his guitar for like percussion.. and then loop it.. it was really kewl. I never saw anything like that before.. (but then this WAS my first concert. :)) so, he rocked.. and then.. intermission I RAN to the bathroom (**WHEW!** lol) and then ran back, and then the lights dimmed and then Tori sang Wampum prayer and she wasn't onstage for it.. I guess she sang it backstage.. or somethin'. and then after it ended.. the red curtain dropped.. it looked so RAD.. and then her bassist and drummer hopped onstage.. and we all started cheering, and then she got onstage and EVERYBODY LEPT TO THEIR FEET.. me included.. and I was already hyped, but she jumped onstage and I think I damn near had a fucking heart attack! I SERIOUSLY felt myself going crazy. I was jumping up and down and screaming and "WHOOOOO!!" Princess Meejay: Wow, I bet it was simply amazing getting to see her in person. Ciara RavenBlaze: oh it was. I mean.. after she came on.. and we all sat down and stuff.. I sat and watched it very calmly.. cheering loudly in between songs and cheering even louder to songs I wanted to hear, but overall just really calm. I even got a little sleepy at a few points. o_O my mom says that must mean she's very soothing to me tho so.. can't be a bad thing. :D anyway, she played Take To The Sky and I clapped along while she slapped her piano on beat, it was so rad ass. and.. she left.. and we stood up and cheered, and she came back for the first encore, and we screamed louder and played uh three more songs, then she left again, and came back again and played.. two more songs.. the LAST being the DAKOTA VERSION of HEY JUPITER!! with her BAND!!!! and with the adlibs that are in the remix and when she was in the middle of the song before that, a lot of us (me included) got up and moved forward. she was 30 feet away when I was sitting down and then she was oh.. 20 feet away when I moved closer. I was surrounded by other ppl but.. during Hey Jupiter.. I swear. I almost cried! I ALMOST CRIED!!! I was so fucking close to crying it shocked me that I was even wanting to! and I was there and I was waving my hand back and forth to the beat and jumping around and singing along as best as I could. I kept choking up so I'd go "WOOHOO!!" instead and then after that, the show was over, so I just followed the crowd.. and I wound up outside in the back trying to meet her but the damned security ppl were like "move on, she's not gonna come out blah blah" so.. after waiting for oh.. 30 mins (and oh, I had to pee SO BAD!!!).. my mom said "let's go.." eh well. I wanted to meet her so bad, but she already made my night by singing Hey Jupiter. I didn't need to meet her for my night to be perfect. Oh, she also sang I Can't See New York too and that was seriously beautiful too. and finally, my mom agreed to go with me next time Tori comes to GA.. assuming she does on her 2nd leg or so of her tour.. she agreed to buy a ticket for her and me.. and that pretty much sums up my day. :) I'll put this on my website along with the pics taken today (none of Tori unfortunately) soon.. but if you wanna see the pics *now*, email me and lemme know. :) Sincerely, Cyndi S. If this person does not come through for me, i will be leaving him negative feedback and telling all of you guys here. i'm just wondering when to panic. that aside - anyone have ONE ticket available??? i don't care if it is the farthest section of gen admission (although no one knows how this will work) also, in talking to a non-EWF friend, she heard that one of her concerts was going to be taped for some reason, and she thinks its the NYC riverside - anyone that can confirm this???? - - Kate ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Nov 2002 13:52:00 -0500 From: "Megan Harris" Subject: Dumb Volume Questions Hi I know this is a totally ridiculous question - but I was wondering if any of you have been on the tour this time around - is it obscenely loud? I've never been to a tori concert. The last large concert i went to was so loud and such bad accoustics I left early - thank god I really didn't like that band all that much. Thanx! :) ~~meg Megan S. I, unfortunately, had to be a GOOD little big girl and left the digicam I brought with my mother. Anyway, my point is.. anybody got 'em handy? PLEASE let me know if/when you do.. (online that is.. :)) because I'm putting my first-concert-ever experience of Tori on my website (the platinumcomplication one) and I don't have any pics of her performing, but I would REALLY appreciate it (and I'll give you guys credit!) if you guys could send me pics of her performing--or at least direct me to a url with them up. I was feeling that it was intentional, also. The other funny thing... I don't think I posted it here. But, I had a feeling that "Wampum Prayer" would be the "opening song" on this tour. Interesting... there is definately a direction in this album. It is, like Tori-style, a journey. I'm really feeling the continuity as I listen to the album, faves and not-yet faves in their designated order. It's one of the most solid pieces of work Tori has, if not the most solid. I think many will feel this in time. Heading to the 'rents? Dreading the forty-three thousand nagging questions about your life. Well, escape that and go see Tori. But Chopper, I just checked Tickets.com and all that left are those really bad balcony seats that are so far from the stage I won't be able to tell if Tori hair is still red. Well, you're in luck because I have (actually still have)four Orchestra Center seats for the Cleveland show. The result of the lovely presale tickets they allow us devoted fans to purchase in advance so we could get the really good seats. But Chopper, aren't those thickets expensive? Actually no. I'm only asking $40 dollars each for said thickets. Yes, that less then I paid for them, but I really am trying to get to Detroit and need to know these tickets are spoken for. (BTW I'm always up for a trade so if you have two extra Detroit tickets maybe we can work somethng out.) So maybe you didn't have the money a month ago. Maybe you were hoping your ex was going to take you ( before they became an ex). Maybe you just discovered Tori Amos as an artist. Maybe you just won the lottery. I don't care. I'm just trying to sell my tickets, and hopefully to someone who will enjoy them. Here the skinny: Four (4) Orchestra Center, Row PP seats 201-204 $40 a piece in pairs or as a group.
