But I think you're right, it seems all the albums are very diary like rather than concept based like Strange Little Girls and Scarlet's Walk. Though Tori has said that Scarlet is HER. A concept is usually something that is planned in order to portray something. Rather than it being natural and diary like, like "Little Earthquakes". But having a concept doesn't mean the feelings are any less. For some artists having a concept makes it easy to show their self rather than saying "I felt this...." you can say "She felt this...." but still talking about yourself. This makes it easier to say. Much like Scarlet/Tori in Scarlet's Walk. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Oct 2002 16:08:11 EDT From: ToriphileMaria@aol.com Subject: Re: Detroit & Chicago *11/29* Tickets for Sale Oooops! Okay, so Tori's head is attached to a foot, so how about this: Ears With Feet. Or more specifically, Ears With Foot. LOL Tony What's more likely? That an all-powerful mysterious god created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn't exist at all? And that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and alone. -Eleanor Arroway, Contact ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Oct 2002 18:21:56 -0400 From: Cyndi S Crawford Subject: Re: i'm new to the group >hello. i'm new and i just wanted to introduce myself. i live in ca USA and i go to cal state fullerton. i've got tix to see tori in la jolla and will possibly see her in la and in san francisco. that's all for now. enjoying the feedback. hugs and pumpkins. peace linner out.< well, let me be the first (hopefully ;) ) to welcome you to the PT list! This leaves me wondering... is Epic *so* concerned about first week sales that they stiffed such biggies as RS with the full disc -- perhaps warranting some lackluster reviews? I mean, let's face it... the album will be all over the internet on the 26th (as the 25th is apparently the date they have listed as permissible for leaks to begin), so sales beyond the first week are likely to go unaffected by their ploy. What's the real benefit of it? Comments? 3) I thought i read somewhere recently that Tori's site would allow pre-ordering of the special edition of the album in a fashion that would get it to our doors the day of release. Did i just dream this, or can anyone else point out where it was mentioned ... or if Tori's site has had anything to say about it.
