Crawford The main thing to note is this she generally sings the words slowly except for the first part of the "chorus" (the first part truely is a chorus) when the drums and guitar kick in and the song gets funkier. They then fall asleep during the rest of the song so it's mostly a ballad except for two parts when she's singing about how she "gives it out". I made a loop of that part which was amazingly difficult because of where the drum beats are. You can find it at www.earswithfeet.com which isn't a fully set-up domain with it's own IP. It's a subdirectory right now. I could mask it but the domain name is mostly to save people from having to remember the URL. The .org, .net & .info TLDs also point there. I'm preregistered with these domains for another 9 years, so far. If I get decent traffic I'll mask it or move it to its own IP address but right now it's on a free server that DOESN'T suck unlike most. I can also eliminate any banner Ads but again I'm waiting for some decent traffic first. I set-up pages for the upcoming tour and I've added the basic pages for her upcoming album and I'm editing the lyrics to the known songs which is why I was confused about some in Amber Waves. I'll post more lyrics within the week after I check the songs against the official lyrics recently posted here. P.S. - Thanks A BUNCH! It saved me TONS of work. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Sep 2002 22:27:01 -0700 From: shaman@eskimo.com Subject: Re: Towers Falling Improv (was Re: Yahoo.com thing) >That improv has a lot of meaning and weight for me. If you could send them to me or point me to where I can find >them online.. I'd much appreciate it...thanks:) Have you tried hereinmyhead.com? I got some medium resolution ones there. I forget what resolution thedent has available. My promo. CD stuff is approximately 400 (SW) or 500 (ASF) pixels and the photographs are approximately 400-500 by about 600-700 pixels except for some ones of the ASF promotional CD that approach 1000 pixels but it's a bit on the fuzzy side to I used a technique I have to make a sharper 500 pixel version that looks better that then one posted elsewhere. I tend to scan at a very high resolution (300 DPI+) and then carefully reduce them down to 100(Web) or 200 DPI (desktop backgrounds) from those files. I need to figure out how to ensure objects lie flat but other than that I think I've figured out how to use someone else's scanner to do good images. I think I need to get a piece of glass to put on the topside to avoid glare for even the slightest non-flatness against the scanners glass. Will this work? I was mostly working with her last AP magazine I depended (too much) on the weight of the magazine to press it flat against the glass. It mostly worked but I did get glare in one spot so it's "back to the drawingboard" for me until I improve my technique. I'm been years since I scanned anything so I'm rusty. Personally, I like the shot where she's wearing the colorful shirt the most so I can see how they used a cropped version for their fanscape site. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 05:55:44 EDT From: DarkSun2@aol.com Subject: Re: Towers Falling Improv . . . mp3? Flint Glass Any highly-refractive lead-containing glass used to make lenses and prisms. Because it absorbs most ultraviolet light but comparatively little visible light, it is also used for telescope lenses. Flint glass typically has a much higher index of refraction than crown glass, and exhibits much higher dispersion, however it is less resistant to damage. Flint glass is used in conjunction with crown glass to make achromatic lenses. ~~Mariam~ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 14:45:39 -0400 (EDT) From: Richard Handal Subject: Re: radio appearances Hi, All, One last thought for now on catching some of the upcoming media blitz. (Surely woj and I aren't the only ones interested in this even though we've been doing a lot of the talking about it.) I happen to know that Tori is scheduled to be busy with tour rehearsals until the 20th and to then be doing a three-week, non-U.S. promo tour as of the 29th, so she will definitely be doing *no* live in-studio radio interviews until after the 20th. I have to think that after the 20th things will start to really heat up on the media front, so for those who want to hear and to help spread access to some of these interviews, an apparent window of opportunity for her to be doing more radio interviews in the U.S. would be from 21st through 28th September. So, that's when it could be fruitful to pay special attention to local radio stations for announcements of upcoming interviews. By the 29th we should have word of where in the world she goes next, at which point some of you helpful folks elsewhere will want to keep an ear open for radio, and even some television events. There will surely be many events during the three weeks she's scheduled to then be doing promo elsewhere in the world. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll make it Down Under for this album, but I haven't heard anything about that and I don't want to spread false hope. I'm pulling for you, though!) That's about all I feel comfortable saying about this publicly right now. When anything else relevant presents itself I'll send it on. Thanks to anyone who can record some of these things and help distribute them. For some of the recent radio interviews people were making MP3s and putting them up online, and that was fabulous. The more cooperation we can muster the better informed we'll all be. I'm sure if anyone manages to get a recording of some of these radio interviews and needs a place to put them up online, if you post here about your situation then someone will be able to help out. No matter how much is repeated in interviews, with Tori, there seems almost always to be at least one unique tidbit, and there's always entertainment value to be had. Sometimes at the expense of the person *doing* the interview, but oh, well. :-) Thanks a bunch! Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. P.S.: Atlanta tickets going on sale Saturday? I'll believe that on Sunday. Strangers things have happened, though. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 13:40:09 -0700 (PDT) From: mypunkinpjs Subject: Re: atlanta date! No need to panic. :) Tickets are apparently -not- going on sale this Saturday. Clear Channel is now listing September 21, 2002 @ 10:00 am. as the on sale date. The Atlanta Civic Center site lists: Newly renovated 5,800 square foot ballroom Newly renovated 4,600 seat theatre I'm didn't see any other info on the ballroom. They only have one seating chart, which shows 4,591 seats. The facility page says "Proscenium theatre with seating capacity of 4650". Assuming Tori is playing the theatre, I guess there will be somewhere between 4,591 and 4,650 seats. ;) - --- woj wrote: > > > clear channel entertainment is now listing one date > for the tour: november > 10 at the atlanta civic center http://www.atlantaciviccenter.com/ > > with an on-sale date of september 14 at 10am. show > time is 7:30, doors at > 6:30. reserved seating is $38. the civic center is a > ticketmaster venue, > but neither ticketmaster nor the civic center sites > list the show yet. > > woj __________________________________________________ Yahoo! - We Remember 9-11: A tribute to the more than 3,000 lives lost http://dir.remember.yahoo.com/tribute ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 17:04:53 -0700 From: guapo stick Subject: atlanta show change >clear channel entertainment is now listing one date for the tour: november >10 at the atlanta civic center >with an on-sale date of september 14 at 10am. show time is 7:30, doors at >6:30. reserved seating is $38. clear channel has changed the on-sale date for the atlanta show to september 21st. . the other details are still the same (for now anyways). woj ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 17:29:25 -0400 (EDT) From: Richard Handal Subject: Re: atlanta date! mypunkinpjs said: > The Atlanta Civic Center site lists: [ . . . ] > The facility page says "Proscenium theatre with > seating capacity of 4650". That sounds about right for how this tour is shaping up. The venues in general seem mainly to be around that size up to around 7,000 seats. There may be some smaller exceptions, and they may be keeping some options open for a return leg in still larger places. If this album does as well expected they'll be *needing* some larger places to fit all the new Toriphiles. :-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 22:53:02 -0400 From: Cyndi S Crawford Subject: Tori in Atlanta I'm an Atlanta resident (well Peachtree City to be exact, but whatever.)..
