Holy shiite!! Lucky Cali bastards. Poe kicks serious arse live, especially with a full band in a small club. Though I'm sure this acoustic thing is pure loveliness. I'm pretty sure she toured with Cameron in the Hello days, though I never saw her back then. I'm sure those who did are bubbling with anticipation. I know they were all very disappointed when he didn't do the recent tours. matthew. hopes for a new album and tour soon. I'm in the army of sell out, shut up, go home, make some money, babe, when you're dead and gone. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Aug 2002 21:22:05 -0400 From: mysterilady2001@cs.com Subject: Re: sampler Hi ya woj & EWF ~ It's all good woj, I know what you were saying. :::smiles sweetly::: I was answering Lavendersparks question in the general manner of her question, not in a specific item purpose way. To be more specific there are all manner of pre-release vehicles - including, but not limited to - PRCD, PRCS, Sampler, Pre-master Acetate, SAM, Test press & Advance CD-R - with each having it's own specific purpose. It's all a collectors dream/nightmare - hundreds of items to categorize - It's a can of worms to put it lightly. I'm sure she didn't want to know all the spec stuff. She just wanted to know if the SW 6 track was available for sale. As far as the single goes. What is the last actual single released? Not withdrawn, but fully released? Bliss, Concertina & 1,000 Oceans singles from TVAB? Too much drama with the withdrawn SLG singles :-/ No idea what to think about a single being released for SW. Is Epic different than Atlantic in how they promote? Are singles being fazed out? All questions that will hopefully be answered in the next 6 months. I'd love to see a single released for the extra tracks they usually bring. To answer woj's 2 questions. (1) No, I've only seen decent scans. I have not held one in my hand yet. I'm counting the days. (2) Logically, we can only figure the following auctions are from the SW tracks leaked on the internet as the 6 track hadn't been released to media yet. We know these auctions are cdr's and not legit Epic releases based on the additional tracks. (The second item has 2 additional, the third has 3). The first time we saw someone adding A Sorta Fairytale to a boot was with the pathetic seller - whateveriwantiget. This jerk created a disc set they called "rare" because they made 10 sets. WhoopDeDo! OK, I have a burner, many of you have burners, a million people have burners. We could ALL download a bunch of tracks, put them on a cdr, grab a pic of Tori, give the whole thing a title, burn 10 discs and sell 'em as rarities. But WE don't. Why? Because it's WRONG! For what the winners of these auctions paid they could have bought themselves a burner and created their own discs. Not to sell, mind you, but to listen to. People, please listen. DON'T BUY BOOTS. No one should be making money off Tori's music except Tori & the record company that shells out the bucks to promote her. tori-boot is available for free trades of shows. Just because someone creates a disc and calls it rare doesn't make it so. Boots of shows are collectible because they are of Tori's live performances. Other boots, like Tori Stories, are collectible because they hold a place in Tori history. But some thiefs crap effort to create something collectible is nothing more than a sly way to get YOU to pay his/her rent. It took awhile but we eventually got this seller off eBay, but not before they made $400+ on their Tori auctions alone. More than likely they have just created a new name and are out there again anyway. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=892894554 This seller of this next auction responded back to my first complaint by closing her auction & saying she was sorry, she didn't know it was a cd-r. Armed with this info she then relisted the same auction the next day under a different title. I then wrote to her again, telling her we are not stupid. I'm waiting for her to try it a 3rd time. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=897910197 The following auction was closed by the seller today after hearing from us. I was actually surprised he closed it. Pleasantly surprised he did. I responded by thanking him for doing the right thing. Based on his reaction we'll NOT call him a bad seller, but rather a mistake was made that he corrected. I'm taking the high road on this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=898653939 For those who are looking into getting a SW sampler I will give you a few pointers on what bad seller tactics to watch out for. Typically what happens with bad sellers who are trying to get away with evil deeds is this: They list as a 3 day auction because the seller knows it sometimes takes eBay a couple days to respond to & act upon complaints. They also list on Thursday night/Friday morn because they know that eBay's Safe Harbor is a mere skeleton crew on weekends. Their hope is that the auction will close before eBay responds. Frequently sellers of this type will also make the auctions private so their bidders identities are protected. That way no one can contact his bidders to warn them. We saw the same tactics used with a boot seller this year who was making money hand over fist on SLG tour boots. These sellers definately know what they are doing. Karma is going to kick their ass! We suspect some of the other SW 6 tracks listed now might be cdr's as well. We have attempted to write to each seller asking info that only the holder of a genuine 6 track would be able to see. So far they either haven't responded at all OR we get long, wordy answers that don't include the info we asked for. The first SW 6 track went for $450.00. For those observing that auction the temptation to sell a cd they don't actually own would be great for some, too great. Buyer beware and know eBay rules. If you do bid on anything on eBay know that eBay has insurance coverage that will cover you to $200.00. From that you must pay a $25.00 deductible, so all you get back is $175.00. If the first auction, the one that went for $450. turned out to be a fraud, (I'm NOT saying it is, I'm just using it as an example), then the winner would be out $275.00 with no recourse other than if they paid by credit card. So those are the facts my dears. Be careful out there. TMI to some, ok most.
