Tonedeff said the line that is similar to what you're thinking... "Began the format to rap the Precious Things in her ear/ Like, you've been Here. I never saw those shirts with baddy powder etc on them, but that's dredging up memories of stickers that parodied the names of ads that were popular in maybe the late 70's or early 80's. The name was something like wacky packies, I know that's wrong, but that was the gist of it. ok, maybe I actually remembered it right after all, google has a reference: wacky packages. http://www.yesterdayland.com/popopedia/shows/toys/ty1153.php I don't know if Johnson's Baddy Powder was one of them, but if that's yet another thing from my childhood that's being resurrected by the "in" stores a few years ago then boy do I feel old. - --Abbe ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Jun 2002 09:34:02 -0700 From: "Missy" Subject: Re: Re:Re: precious-things-digest V7 #114 > Okay, now MY question is.. Good question. I've never actually SEEN one of these, except for in the Tori picture. So you could either 1. Make one yourself. Or, try and hunt around thrift stores/vintage clothing kinda shops looking for one, or figure out who made the originals and see if they have any you could buy somewhere. Just some ideas. I'm not real sure exactly where you would buy one of them. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Jun 2002 21:02:35 +0000 From: "Mariana Furtado" Subject: Re: Johnson's Baddy Powder In response to: >>Ok, so You've all seen the Tori poster where she has the shirt on >>that >>says "Baddy powder, junkie & Jailbird" etc.... >what does the shirt saying mean??? ive never understood it. The shirt is referring to cocaine. Johnson's Baby Powder is a white powder, "Baddy" powder, cocaine, is also white. Hence the Junkie, Jailbird references. It's a naughty shirt. Bad Tori! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Jun 2002 15:29:08 -0700 From: "Missy" Subject: Re: Johnson's Baddy Powder > The shirt is referring to cocaine. But that's just my opinion. I realize she influences people and whatnot. So yeah. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V7 #135 *************************************
