Little Earthquakes: Crucify, Precious Things, Winter, China, and Mother. Under The Pink: God, Bells For Her, Baker Baker, The Waitress, and once I got over the surprise of it not being all funky and groovy and what every other "sexual" song out on the radio is like, Icicle. Boys For Pele: Horses, Father Lucifer, Professional Widow, Caught A Lite Sneeze, Hey Jupiter (the video made me get into her in the first place.), Little Amsterdam, Marianne, Not The Red Baron, and the Doughnut Song. hear any freaking "orgasmic scream" that'd send my parents in here yelling about "WHAT are you LISTENING TO??", Liquid Diamonds (I played that over and over for a few days. :)), and Northern Lad (I played that one over and over too after I "got over" Liquid Diamonds. :)) To Venus & Back 1: Bliss, Juarez, Concertina, and Datura.. ESPECIALLY from 58 seconds until what.. about at 2:12? I LOVE that part.. and then the slow part! LOVE IT! To Venus & Back 2: Precious Things, Bells For Her, The Waitress (it's the PERFECT way to end a show, I would think.), and Purple People. Strange Little Girls: I Don't Like Mondays.. and.. well.. I loved New Age once I heard her go "oh, you little *SICK* little FUCKS!" I dunno why I love to hear a favorite celebrity of mine cuss like that. I just do.. rofl.. Sincerely, Cyndi S. From The Choirgirl Hotel (It's spring now.... sun is shining.... and it's a perfect CD for spring and summer... It was the album that made me love Tori and her music)<< >most of the music is pretty dark and gloomy tho...how does this fit the summer schema?< I would think that would be due to one or two of a few things.. one could be that it came out in time for summer to start coming around.. so it just seems to fit that time of year for that very reason. Another thing.. Tori says that sitting by the water in the river while going through the heartbreak of her miscarriage was what got her started in writing out those songs. You think of water, and hanging out by it, etc.. (plus she was in Florida at the time if I remember correctly) you usually think of playing IN it right? and when you think if PLAYING in it, you think of hot summer days, don't you? Those are just my theories tho.. I can totally see this CD being blasted from somebody's boom box at the beach or at, say, a water amusement park. Totally. Sincerely, Cyndi S.
