FTCH: none again (well... maybe cruel) TVAB: spring haze SLG: i don't like mondays I'm sorry if I hurt some of you with these choices.... But these are just my picks... Now it's time for your least fav songs... Kasia "Tam - milion moich s3sw; tam - lec9 i te." ~Cyprian Kamil Norwid~ "sometimes you're nothing but meat" ~Tori Amos~ "we can't see clear but what we see is alright" ~Sonic Youth~ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2002 12:26:02 EDT From: Nelsewhere@aol.com Subject: Re: least fav Tori songs??? ooh! my turn! Hey all -- I have always wondered about this too so I am really glad that this topic was brought up. The Tori song that I dislike more than any other would have to be Sister Named Desire, which is on Part 2 of the Talula UK singles. Other Tori songs that I dislike I can at least tolerate and even at times enjoy (like Pandora or Professional Widow). Sister Named Desire is the only Tori song that I truly cannot listen to -- I think it is that horrible. To my knowledge, Tori has never made any comments on this song. I would love to know the back story to this song and see what compelled Tori to write it. Maybe it would give me a better understanding or appreciation of the song? Least fave, eh? I think I can do this: LE - China & Mother ( I don't hate them, just tend to skip them) UTP - Bells For Her (I can never get into this song) BFP - Professional Widow (I really DON'T like) & Twinkle FTCH - Jackie's Strength ( I like the words, but some how just don't feel the music plus I really don't think it fits with the rest of FTCH) TVAB - Riot Poof (no comment) SLG - '97 Bonnie & Clyde (I just don't like this song period the end) Non-albums tracks or covers - American Pie (I have never liked this song and I never will! I don't care who covers it!) "Even a genius can have an off day." - Wile E. My least favorite songs: LE: Me and a Gun UTP: Bells For Her (Funny, I love this song live on TVAB, though!) BFP: Not the Red Baron FTCH: She's Your Cocaine TVAB: Josephine SLG: Heart of Gold Note...I don't totally dislike ANY of Tori's songs, these are just my LEAST favorite!! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2002 18:04:07 -0500 From: "mr zebra" Subject: Re: least fav Tori songs??? LE: China, Mother. Pink: Bells for Her, Cloud on My Tongue. Pele: nope. all wonderful. don't always listen to all of them, but they're all good. ftch: Black Dove is a bit subpar. Venus: Venus. no, just kidding. Concertina, Lust, Josephine. SLG: nope. all good. I can't listen to B&C, but it's still incredible. matthew. my whole life revolves around your absence until I can't remember what I was, what I am, what I know, or where I go. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Apr 2002 00:24:16 +0100 From: "Pete Lambert" Subject: "how i learned to love..." Hello there, I love the current threads of favourite/least favourite songs (for me: Hey Jupiter/She's Your Cocaine), and thought I'd suggest this: When it wasn't love at first minim, the ones that are just "eh?" for a few months before something suddenly clicks.... HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE: LE: China - a song about stale love seemed out of place among the eggs-about-to-hatch UTP: Space Dog - was just *silly* til I read some Gaiman and heard the plugged version BFP: Pro Widow - until i realised you really can hear her shovelling the bullsh*t FTCG: Black-Dove - ever seen the Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy? Remember the theme music? TVAB: Riot Poof - until the 5.5weeks Tour version sounded *right* SLG: New Age - when i realised: oh, she isn't saying "sick little fox", is she... So there's my little bit, Pete xx ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2002 23:54:06 +0000 From: "Aileen Sharkie" Subject: Re: I dont really hate any Tori song..so these are just least favourite! YKTR: Heart Attack at 23 LE: Me And A Gun (its not that i dont like it, but its way too emotional for me to listen to most times) UtP: Cloud on my Tongue BfP: Beauty Queen (I love Horses, but BQ is too slow for me, I always skip past it to horses), FTCGH: I adore ALL the songs on this. If I HAD to choose, I would say Pandora's Aquarium..it took me a while to get into this song. TVAB: Orbiting: Spring Haze (i like this song, but i have to be in the right mood for it. Live: Cruel SLG: 97 Bonnie & Clyde ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2002 19:52:27 -0400 From: Cyndi S Crawford Subject: Re: least fav Tori songs??? Well.. I can't pick, really.. but I'd have to say (I've never heard YKTR so I don't count it yet.. lol) that overall--my least favorite ALBUM (partly cuz FTCH is practically my favorite, and I like to listen to 'em all in order) would have to be BFP. there are some amazing songs on there, but by the time I get to Putting The Damage On and Twinkle.. I'm sitting here with ants in my pants, I'm so eager to throw in FTCH! as for least favorite SONG.. I REALLY cannot pick.. I *can* say.. my least (from what I've heard.. and I've only heard the original, and two different live versions, and one on the live versions is from TVAB) favorite live performance of Bells For Her would be the version when she did that beginning of Hurt by NIN and then went into BFH. I *LOVE* BFH, but that version--so far, is the version I always find myself skipping in my mix CDs.. And then there's this one remix of Hey Jupiter.. I think it was fanmade.. and considering that, it was very good.. but.. I didn't much like it.. whoever made it took the original and the Dakota mix and combined it. I *loved* the Dakota bridge being in it and the Dakota piano outro being in it, but it didn't seem to work well with me otherwise.. that's all I can say for least fave songs.. is different versions. I can't pick otherwise! Sincerely, Cyndi S.
