Why is DDI version of Little Amsterdam amazing? Because Tori added some extra lyrics in the middle of the song and she changed music a bit... that sounds very special..... Must admit, when I listen to the opening of the 'Anything But Honey' boot of 29/4/94, which opens with 'American Pie/ Smells Like Teen Spirit', there's an air of tension & unease present, IMO...listened to this show lots of times, still sends a shiver through me hearing Tori on this one... & 'Little Earthquakes'...the three blast ending of 'Tear' 'Gun' & 'Earthquakes'...just raw power at its best. Hey! Well, It's hard to say what album I like at most but here's my chart :-) : 1. Boys For Pele (I think of this album as a whole long song... It's quite difficult for me to choose few fav songs from this one... I love them all... So that's my favourite Tori album that I love so much...., but the funniest thing about it is that I don't listen to it that often....) 2. From The Choirgirl Hotel (It's spring now.... sun is shining.... and it's a perfect CD for spring and summer... It was the album that made me love Tori and her music) 3. Under The Pink (some songs on this album are my VERY VERY TORI FAVOURITE... but some of them aren't really interesting...) 4. To Venus And Back (for wonderful songs that makes me think of someone like "Concertina" or "Lust" but I have to be really in a special mood to listen to "Datura" and "Spring Haze") 5. Little Earthquakes (takes the last place because there are many songs on it that are my Tori least fav songs: "China", "Tear In Your Hand", "Girl" and "Leather"... However, it's still an amazing piece of Tori's work) So that's it *hugs*kisses*and such* :-) Kasia "Tam - milion moich s3sw; tam - lec9 i te." ~Cyprian Kamil Norwid~ "sometimes you're nothing but meat" ~Tori Amos~ "we can't see clear but what we see is alright" ~Sonic Youth~ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Apr 2002 13:13:33 -0500 From: "Vicki Rzentkowski" Subject: Re: From The Choirgirl Hotel... Wow! Picking my fave album is really, REALLY hard. Let's see... If I had to pick I would probably go with Little Earthquakes or Boys For Pele. The only reasoning I have is, at the time they were released I some how fit into them, if that makes any sense. They sort of were who I was. (especially Pele) When I first bought Pele it was actually disturbing to me and I thought I didn't like it. But now I realize it was just reflecting who I was and I didn't want to see it. So now it's much more dear to my heart than her other albums. I love her stuff, but far and away I love LE best-and am listening to it now and having a beer--looooooooooooooong day. FTCGH is my second fave, but LE is just too perfect. When I was working (laid off, I'm a victim of the economy) I listened to TVAB a lot at work. I needed all that energy. I never quite bonded with UtP, but we do have tea and good bitching session once in a while. BfP is the girl I call when I'm most ready to drink bleach. LE is up for whatever I want whenever. Love her. I've been up for 18 hours after only 3 hours of sleep. I'm shot! toodles, Tom "All the carnage of my journeys makes it harder to be livin' He said, 'It's a long road to be forgiven."
