The only thing I can hope is that it's released, introduces some new fans to Tori who then go and buy her output on her new label, and hey, I assume Tori will be getting some royalties from it, so it's good for her... any guesses as to a release date? I'd say either this time next year, or perhaps whenever her first Epic release comes out... [or am I being too cynical?] Incidentally, Aimee Mann is taking a label to court for releasing an unauthorised "best of" - www.aimeemann.com for details, the album in question is "The ultimate collection"... This may well be the strangest Tori sighting I've ever encountered: http://www.dictionaraoke.org/ Dictionaraoke is a ... err ... how to describe this? Some online dictionaries have audio clips of words, so you can hear them pronounced. So someone got the bright idea to take songs and feed them through these online dictionaries, and record an MP3 of the results. They bill it as "the fun of karoke meets the power of the dictionary". It's ... weird. To say the least. One of the songs on the page is "Me and a Gun". The file size is just over 5MB. I don't know if it's worth it, but ... well, there you are. Err. Enjoy. Or something. There's a total of 75 songs available right now, from "Copacabana" to "Closer" to (for more Tori-related content) "Enjoy the Silence" to "Another Brick in the Wall" to ... Well, just go to the site and take a look. For those of y'all who partake in alcohol or (ahem) other forms of chemical entertainment, having them handy may be a good idea. ;) /nm ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 16:41:00 -0600 From: "mr zebra" Subject: Re: simple query > ok, is this right: > "plugged"=with band, or with any instruments that have to be plugged in, > therefore no accapella Pretty much. Except Plugged, more specifically refers to a live version from the 1998 "Plugged" tour with the band (but generally does not include the songs performed solo on that tour). > unplugged=solo, no keyboards, etc? Right. Or "acoustic." But once again, more specifically, a performance from the MTV Unplugged series. matthew. I dreamt tomorrow had a prettier face. I dreamt tomorrow would have better things to say than, "You look like shit, what's your problem, bitch?" ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 23:15:30 +0000 From: "black-winged roses" Subject: Real Men live I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I might find an mp3 of Real Men live in concert? I've looked for it everywhere to no avail. The version from Tori's Beuty and a Gun won't download. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. *************** http://www.geocities.com/sarahvox ICQ: 131558324 "I was reading about what was going on in Afghanistan--the way women were being oppressed, the destruction of religious statues. (i heard "stunk" but i guess "suck cock" was what she actually said.) a couple times, booker fawned over tori rather embarrasingly, bemusing himself about how pretty she was. tori seemed, at those points, a little less than pleased to be there. ;) there were a couple whoopsies about the show though. first, the interview segments were played out of order from the video segments. so, during the second clip (after reaining blood), chris and tori introduced "strange little girl" but played "real men" instead. the third clip (after i don't like mondays) ended with an introduction to i don't like monday (which, of course, they had already played). whoops. also, there was no real end to the program and a commercial break between always the sun and stan, which made it unclear if stan was, in fact, part of the program (i think it was). it was shown three times over the weekend, so i figured i'd tape the second one in case the segments were shown in their correct order. of course, that didn't happen and, to make matter more confusing, mtv decided to add additional interview segments (from what i think was a completely different interview from the one with booker) where tori answered question like "what is the best song by a woman?" with joni mitchell's blue and KaTe bush's hounds of love. to make this all fit, they started the program several minutes early! so i recorded the third airing last monday and got the whole thing. ;) (if anyone really wants a copy, just let me know and i'll hook you up.) woj ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V6 #237 *************************************
