It was a perfectly civil crowd clear upuntil about 4:30 PM but during the next hour the crowd got restless and people who just showed up kept trying to cheat theirway up front and thing just got real ugly because she was so damned late. It's because these things are so awful I never bring anyone along anymore. > ...The girl who brought the four-yr.-old ( I think that was her age)... and > argued w/ Steve about taking the kids out, got her stuff signed... that was > good. You know, With the exception of that fucking cell phone the only noise I heard besides Tori's voice was the sound of the air condidtioning whirring. I was very silent except for that one asshole! If he was sitting next to me I would have taken it from him and crushed the damned thing right then. > I wish she was coming back soon. I just don't have the time and money to > follow her on tour. Same here, as it was I had to skip out on a few things just to getin this show. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2001 11:17:08 -0000 From: "Mike Gray" Subject: Tori on Channel 4 Teletext Today Hi Guys, C4 Text. page 453, has an 8 page item re Tori, should be there today & tomorrow... I thought she sounded great and, I don't know if it was just my imagination or not, but she seemed more comfortable and at ease than she did on Leno. She did Real Men. I don't watch that show very often. Do they always play the music of the musical guest as they go from and to commercial breaks, or were they playing Tori as a little special treat? I thought it was cool too that they didn't just use songs from the latest album for those transitions. (They even went back as far as Crucify.) Tori fan on staff, perhaps? The only disappointment was that Craig didn't chat with her after the performance. Oh well. - -bt ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2001 14:20:52 -0500 From: strange little woj Subject: kilborn when we last left our heroes, Brian K Tanaka exclaimed: >So, what did everybody think of Tori on the Late Late Show last night? i'm really glad she did "real men", which is one of my faves from the album, and thought she did a bang-up job on it. not so sure about her fashion choices, but then, it wouldn't be tori if she was dressed sensibly. ;) ;) ;) the most amusing bit was the way kilborn hammed up the crowd by periodically mentioning that tori would be on the show just to hear the audience explode with whoops and cheers. >I thought she sounded great and, I don't know if it was just my imagination >or not, but she seemed more comfortable and at ease than she did on Leno. i got that impression too. i wonder if this is because the late late show is a lower pressure event than the tonight show. or maybe it's something to do with her having been in town for a day already and having one of the performances at the wiltern already under her belt? (hey, i sound like one of those "experts" on cnn wildly conjecturing about unknown possibilities! ;) ) >I don't watch that show very often. Do they always play the music of >the musical guest as they go from and to commercial breaks, or were >they playing Tori as a little special treat? i was wondering the same thing. there's no band on kilborn, so i thought that might be standard operating procedure. anyone know? >The only disappointment was that Craig didn't chat with her after the >performance. Oh well. you know, that's a common comment after a late night show appearance (sometimes even escalating to complaints that the host wasted their time talking to one of the other guests instead of tori!), but i'm just in it for the music. yeah, i agree it'd be nice if kilborn (or whomever) talked to their musical guests, but i can live without it...especially since any discussion would be brief and rushed anyways. woj ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V6 #228 *************************************
