Here's T's explanation from the London 8/30/01 show (just before Crucify): "So the story goes that, um... Who's Wurly do you think this is? Certainly not mine. Do you think I would paint this thing on this thing? Come on! Anyway, but I can't, um, paint it something else because my crew said they would, um, do something really mean like paint my Bosey if I painted this. And so, um, this was Country Joe and the Fish's Wurly at Woodstock... What they're telling me anyway. They probably lied to me to get more money out of me. But I bought it hook, line, and sinker so I'm not painting this thing. So here it is." - -- - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Tanaka - btanaka@well.com - http://www.well.com/user/btanaka/ - --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Nov 2001 16:51:22 -0600 From: "Sarah Bowman" Subject: The Wurly Great post about the Wurly.. here's some other info she brought up at the last two shows, paraphrased: Austin: "This is my new friend, well she's older that most of you. She's been through a lot.. she was from woodstock and someone spilled like a coke all over her and she sat there for thirty years. So we've had quite a time cleaning her up..." I also remember her asking Marcel if the Wurly was making some noise she heard, he apparently fixed it... Dallas: "These are my new friends that are older than most of you..." someone screamed in the audience, "Do you still have your harpsichords?" She was like, 'Do I still have my what?" and then a bunch of people screamed at once, "Harpsichords!" "Oh! Well yes, I have two harpsichords, and they will probably come with me next time, but they are a real pain to bring on the road and the crew have to baby them. Do ya know, like, youre going on a date with someone and they just drive you nuts because they're the type of people that want no sauce on their fish, and no ice in their tea, and you're just like...well the harpsichords are kinda like those people." She started playing the next song, I think it might have been Black Dove, and then stopped, laughing, "You know I'm one of those people that wants no sauce on my fish, no ice in my tea..." Everyone laughed and cheered, and she kept going. By the way, Dallas was the most amazing Tori concert I have ever seen... she always plays the most electric shows in Dallas, and I've seen her three times there. The energy was absolutely amazing! Austin was practically comotose... so if any of you get a chance to see one concert in Texas, be sure to try to make it a Dallas show! freshlittlepuddles ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Nov 2001 21:29:41 -0600 From: "Carmen Riojas" Subject: Re: austin & houston i'm pretty much out of the loop on this, so please bear w/ me for asking questions that may have already been covered but... what is the boot project and do you have to sign up to be part of it or anything? its just that the houston show was very magical and healing for me and i'd like to recapture that experience but i didn't sneak in a recorder or anything (it would've been really easy too b/c they didn't even look in the other compartment of my purse). so i know its sort of hush hush and in the works but if ya'll would keep me in mind i would be so grateful. toodles CR ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 5 Nov 2001 23:42:16 EST From: PiXiELuSt411@aol.com Subject: Concert Tomorrow!
