Due to a misunderstanding between friends who were buying us tickets for the show we ended up with tickets to both shows, and can only really go to the Sunday show (10-07), so I'd love to have a fan get the tickets for face value ($40 each - I'm not asking for the convenience charges) than scalp them on eBay or something. The tickets are Tier Sec-H J5-8, bought through Ticketmaster. I can mail them Priority Mail (preferred) but if necessary I may be able to meet you at the venue a couple hours before the show to hand them over; I can accept payment by check (though you may have to wait a day or so for me to cash it) or via Paypal since I've got an account there, or in cash if we're meeting at the venue. (If you happen to live in or near Baltimore, I can probably drop them by your place someday or meet you somewhere for the exchange, as that's where I live.) Thanks, and I hope to speak to some of you soon, John ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Sep 2001 17:56:34 -0400 From: "becka" Subject: Re: Grand Rapids, MI 10/17/01 has anyone heard anymore more news on the grand rapids concert? it's showing at the devos hall AND on the van andel arena/grand center with ticketmaster.. is there anyone out there that has been to devos hall/grand center for a show or from school? what's the seating like? how many seats are there? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 09 Sep 2001 20:45:34 -0400 From: acopperbeechDryad Subject: Re: rainn parties and here i thought that said "rainn panties." i was all excited... just the same, glad some money was raised =) - -- ~ kelley acopperbeechDryad FINNatic #69 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ so she woke up from where she was lying still said i gotta do something about where we're going ~U2 running to stand still ___________________ The Saferoom Project http://www.saferoom.org/ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Sep 2001 21:31:45 EDT From: Twinkle018@aol.com Subject: Women Who Rock: 100 Essential Women in Music I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this. But, I just picked up Guitar One & Rockrgrl magazine's copy of "Women Who Rock: 100 Essential Women in Music" @ Safeway of all places. Tori is on Page 12 with a small bit about "conservatory-trained daughter of a Methodist preacher." There are two almost-full-page pics of her tossing the wine at the camera (I'm sorry I can't remember which previous magazine that was from). But, interestingly, it state "Under the Pink" and "Me and a Gun" as the essentials of her repertoire. There are many other interesting women and their pictures featured in the magazine. Besides, I have a lot of respect for Carla DeSantis' magazine Rockrgrl (even more so after working with her during the Rockrgrl convention last Oct). So, if you're up for some good Tori pics and the novelty of having so many wonderful female musicians in one magazine, it's worth at least looking at in the store. You can also order copies of Rockrgrl magazine, including the Women Who Rock one at www.rockrgrl.com. Just thought I'd pass this along. There is one (probably my favorite of her ever) in the Making Faces book. I believe this is from the same day as her performance of "Father Lucifer" on Letterman in '96. Anyhow, it inspired me to watch the video I had of that performance. This is one of the most beautiful versions of this song (also, one of my favorites). It brought back some of the anticipation that I had during the Dew Drop Inn Tour. That was the same year that I first met her. But, for whatever reason, magic kept popping up during that tour and the three Seattle shows she did were amazing. The first night was just electric in the oddest way. The second night first performance had such a wonderful set list. And the second show second night was amazing in a flooring way for me since I was front row center and had one of those connecting moments with her during Me and a Gun. All of this made me so excited to think of what a treat we are in for with her touring solo again. I could feel some of those moments again in listening to the MP3's of the London show, thanks to those wonderfuls who posted those for the rest of us. I'm so excited. Tori solo is such a gift. I'm so grateful to have this opportunity again. Humbled by the thought of the experience. This has my creative juices flowing. Typical of me to start rambling... anyhow... Back to my original thoughts... I was watching "Father Lucifer" on Letterman... and wondering about some of the lyrics. It's probably really simple, but, if anyone has this could they clear this up for me if they know. She starts in the "Go Away World... Don't ( ?) Glass..." What is the word before glass? Please let me know. It almost reminds me as if she was singing the backing vocals... and saying the last half of "only"... 'cuz next she sings "You're only glass". Just wondering... please help. Thanks in Advance... Desiree ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V6 #165 *************************************
