Kelley wrote : Re: adam kiss my eve "well... that just means we'll see the originals going for a small fortune on ebay shortly..." I don't think so, unless people get silly. There are going to be more "Adam kiss my eve" promos (the first one) out there that any other. Think of the thousands that have gone to RAINN benefits, radio stations, etc. These really are going to be easier to get than the released single! Even the second one will be no more difficult to find than any other unless Atlantic start withdrawing them and so far it doesn't look like they are. Now ...if you had a pre release of SLG with that cover ... MysT wrote : "SATIN WORSHIP???" Yep. You were right first time ! I'm not so sure whether it's Tori inviting the world to some slidy fun on the bedlinen of your choice or just a play on words similar to ones she's had fun with before, like "Baddy Powder". I guess somebody's thinking ahead to a honeymoon :-) Watch out Jim !! Miami, FL - Thursday August 30th - Club 5922 Strange Little Bands - A Tori Amos Tribute This event is part of the worldwide 'Happy Birthday, Tori' fundraiser that is to benefit RAINN, The Rape Abuse and Incest National Network, the only 24 Hour Rape Crisis Hotline in the United States. It is in honor of the birthday of its founder and chairperson, Tori Amos, who is herself a victim of sexual assault. Please join us for a wonderful evening featuring charity auctions, raffles, a special sneak preview of Tori's upcoming album 'Strange Little Girls' and live performances from the following ten bands: the rocking horse winner - beautiful melodic indie pop stardriver - noise pop, not unlike electrafixion francis 7 - shoegazer band in the vein of chapterhouse, the chameleons and slowdive remember the ocean - pretty stuff, they sound like the sundays with natalie merchant singing juan montoya (from disconnect) - shoegaze/indie rock bill cruz - sadcore signer songwriter, like mark eitzel :) silence repellent - instrumental electronic stuff twice the sun - heavier stuff, kind of like tool, but with keyboards matthew sabatella - singer/songwriter stuff, a bit like matthew sweet all above bands will be performing one cover of a Tori Amos song and one original song - we will be recording these covers for a future RAINN benefit CD Compilation that will be sold online. (we will let you know when these are ready) :) and special guest Metro Blue / Capital recording artist Nil Lara please visit our website for more information: www.strangelittlebands.homestead.com even if you can't make it, please consider making a donation to RAINN (visit our website for instructions on how to do so) - it is a really great charity and over 88% of every dollar you donate goes directly to helping victims of sexual assault. thank you :) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2001 16:52:37 EDT From: RHPSshock@aol.com Subject: Re: Oh, SATAN help me! Tori Amos performing tracks written by Eminem, Neil Young, even Slayer. But actually its not surprising, given the context. On her new album, STRANGE LITTLE GIRLS, Tori has taken 12 songs written by men - then rebuilt the tracks and performed them from the viewpoint of 13 different female characters (one song features twins). The result of this innovative project, STRANGE LITTLE GIRLS, arrives in stores September 18. Now the last venue is San Diego, which is better for me :-) I'm 2+ hours from Copley Hall. It's common for early tour schedules to flop around - venue changes, date changes & outright cancellations. I bet they are planning on 2 dates for San Diego - the 20th to sell out so they can do the 21st. Hell, I'm free on both those dates so it works for me :-) Extra days for Los Angeles too - I'm betting 3 total - Nov. 15th-17th. Though it will be odd not to see her at The Greek. Just have to wait & see Toodles ~ MysT *HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kisses August 28th to my soon-to-be hubby JIM :-) **6 weeks to go :-) *** ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2001 17:16:37 -0700 From: violet@torithoughts.org Subject: new shirts for Toriphiles I promised I'd let folks on the lists know when I did another shirt project. Well, here we go... New shirts, for all you "strange little toriphiles." :) http://www.torithoughts.org/projects/sltshirts.html Because the shows are approaching so quickly, to accommodate folks attending shows before October 19th who want to have their shirt by the date of their show, there is a special option for placing rush orders. Rush orders must be in by 9pm Pacific on Wednesday, September 5th. (Payable online only -- no time for snail mail to get here in time.) Otherwise, if you'll be going to shows from October 19th on (or if you're going to one of the early shows but you don't particularly care if you have your shirt before your show), then the ordering deadline is 9pm Pacific on Monday, September 24th. And a special note of appreciation to the folks who wrote to ask me if there was a new shirt in the works. That folks remember my past work and look forward to new projects means a lot to me. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. And feel free to share this info with other Tori folks or lists. Does anyone know if Star Tix really is selling her tickets, or if i can get her tix through ticketmaster? if i purchase her tix on the pre-sale (assuming there is one for dallas), can i do that through star tix, or is it only through ticketmaster? and, what's the website address? also, if anyone is familiar with the dallas bronco bowl.. i'm assuming the best seats are sections 1 and 2, rows A through J. after that, what are the best sections, if i'm not able to get in sections 1 or 2? well that's a lot of questions. i hope i can have them answered. boy, am i excited about seeing tori! and she's going to be in dallas on SATURDAY! that means I don't have to rush around to get down there!! love you guys, micah bailey ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2001 22:57:13 EDT From: ToriLiscious@cs.com Subject: ummm.. another question.. can someone give me some information on meet and greets? i know that nobody's sure, as of yet, if she'll be doing them on this tour, however, i've never been able to participate in a meet and greet. the closest thing i've done is waited for her after the show, feeling like i was in the front, against the bars, at a pantera concert. or, for you that hasn't been in that situation, out of breath, about to pass out because people are smushing my body against metal with absolutely no regard for my life. =) i did, however, get a piano book signed. although i only got a peek at her face, because people are a worthless bunch of greedy assholes that think that their time is more precious than the rest of ours. oh well.. anyway, just wanted some info on how the whole meet and greet works, when it happens, what i should bring, how long i'm going to anticipate waiting, etc., etc.. thanks y'all.. micah maranda ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V6 #152 *************************************
