But who does half of these remixes? not the obvious ones, like BT's work...but like, Prec.Thing's 7th grade mix, LE's aftershock mix, Bliss' naked mix, Carnival's bourbon chicken mix OR bourbon st. mix, iiee's lipgloss arsonist mix, lovesong's aching heart mix, lite sneeze's wintermute mix, and then there's alot of mixes by Matt--who's that? i.e Daisydead petals-matt's racous mix, here in my head--there'n'Matt's mix, cruel--matt's two step mix. More confusing, as seen above, is that some are slyly mislabeled... so what's the deal w/this? tori is like techno's muse. I've never seen an artist so enthusiastically remixed into every genre of electronica. I wonder what tori thinks of this.... So, I would say that makes it both her solo song and a DCD song. Kinda like when Fleetwood Mac performs Stevie Nicks solo songs, they sort of belong to both the band and her. Anyway, wouldn't it be cool for Tori to sing a song with Dead Can Dance? toodles, Tom _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Apr 2001 00:04:38 -0700 From: Beth Winegarner Subject: Re: music Ryan wrote: > I think it was pretty rude, but pretty characteristic of a Tori fan > unfortunately. I saw her open for Brendan Perry from DCD. I must admit that when I re-read my post it didn't come off the way I had intended it to, and for that I'm sorry. It's just that I think so highly of DCD (although I do respect Delerium) and SO highly of Kristin Hersh, (and respect Ani, but don't care for her anymore), that I have a difficult time when people say they're on par. I shouldn't have said anything -- you're right, it's simply a matter of opinion. Beth - -- "I am lost inside your pocket. I am lost against your fingers. I am falling down the stairs. Jim is winging his way to my home in California from his home in the UK as I type this, so I've been busy getting things in place for his visit. Lucky me :-) Below is last weeks trivia... below that is the answer ~ << Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2001 23:30:26 EST From: Mysterilady2001@cs.com Subject: Tori Trivia 3 ~ Hi ya EWF ~ Short 'n sweet. In 1983 Tori (known then as Ellen) performed 5 nights a week where? This-ones-pretty-easy Toodles ~ MysT >> Answer: In 1983 Tori - known then as Ellen - spent the majority of her nights in a bar. She performed 5 nights a week, Tuesday - Saturday at The Lion's Gate Tavern in The Marbury House located in Georgetown, MD. She played almost continuously from 7pm through Midnight, taking short breaks & many requests from the patrons who largely came to hear her play. She was a very popular performer who, according to the establishment's owners, brought in many new repeat customers. Back in 1983 Tori was 19 when she began appearing at the bar and turned 20 prior to leaving & pursuing other avenues in her career. I wasn't able to find the minimum drinking age in Maryland in 1983, but in mid-1984 congress passed the Minimum Purchase Age act encouraging states to make the national drinking age 21 years old. It's possible that Tori wasn't legally supposed to be in that bar, drinking or not. Interesting hmmm :-) If anyone knows... please post.
