The short version is that they all have a picture of an artist (others include Jewel and Alanis) with a hat on but the CD itself is the same IIRC. I thought it was a little odd because it was a 'Y.M. Prom issue', but very excited to ever see Tori in a magazine. Anyways, so the next day I see her again and she has another magazine and she looked over and said the same thing. This time it was the magazine 'Jump'. One of the magazines were just saying how Tori was a homecoming queen, but I can't remember what the other one says. Nothing big. It was a tiny picture and a little article. I just thought i would share the news if any of you who collect everything of Tori's wanted to go out and get them. I'm pretty sure they were both February issues. ~~Angela ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Feb 2001 08:58:18 +0800 From: "Alana Tassone" Subject: Re: rare tori import cd I have the boys for pele clear vinyl......it is a double vinyl in a fold out cardboard sleeve (both are clear) with a lyric sheet inside the sleeve It is divided into side a, b, c, and d, which are marked by(if i remember corrrectly) the intros.....can't think of anything else at this time...have to go home and look to remember everything.... i also have a limited edition UTP vinyl which is actually pink...:) >From: daniel verrastro >To: precious-things@smoe.org >Subject: rare tori import cd >Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2001 23:08:36 -0300 (ART) > >also there was a rare vinyl us limited edition for >BOYS FOR PELE on clear vinyl and audiophile quality, >does anyone have this item?. >bye, Daniel (By the way I find the adress that I had missed) > - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Feb 2001 19:43:53 EST From: Mallettdove@aol.com Subject: How do you get to the mp3s section at tal.org? I don't have this, but it's quite common for pirated versions of albums to be pressed in Taiwan (and some other countries). Sometimes they get new artwork (like this one), other times they have a reproduction of the original artwork. For what it's worth, it's not a sanctioned item. It's likely not worth a whole lot of money, though, since these items are quite common and usually not terribly different than the official release. > also there was a rare vinyl us limited edition for > BOYS FOR PELE on clear vinyl and audiophile quality, > does anyone have this item?. The clear vinyl BfP is quite commonly available, and you can order it off of several websites for US$15 and less. I have it, and I'm certain that quite a lot of other people here (who aren't collector freaks like I am) have it as well. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 07 Feb 2001 21:03:51 EST From: Sliverain@aol.com Subject: i hate hyper cds i just got the 1000 oceans single that has bliss and the title videos and i can't get it to work. i get to the websiet and it tells me to log in or whatever, but there isn't anywhere for me to log in. it's just a blank screen except for the "log in" command. can anyone help me? - --jen ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Feb 2001 03:49:34 EST From: Mysterilady2001@cs.com Subject: Taiwan CD's ~ Hi Daniel & EWF ~ I totally agree - the Taiwan CD is cool looking - reminds me of the cool red fruit/vegetation/phone headdress on the GOD single. I have the CD you speak of, but on taking a close look you can tell the headdress is superimposed on Tori. Sorry. I can't tell you what the inside is like though - - mine is sealed and I plan on keeping it so. The Japanese CD's are also unique. They always have an extra track. (Anyone know why???) It also has what they call an Obi. Its a paper wrap that circles the CD with Japanese writing on it. Now, I'll tell you what I think of eil. No one and I do mean no one on the web has more expensive prices for music items than eil. Jim and I avoid them like the plague. Get a Tori Amos Collectibles so you don't get robbed. Rarely is something so rare that you can pay their prices and feel you did OK. The Boys For Pele LP came in 2 unusual vinyl colors - clear vinyl with blue hued label for the UK release and a clear green vinyl with tan label for the US release. This colored vinyl carries on from the US Under The Pink brrrrrrrright pink! vinyl with red label. I don't know a thing about LP's being audiophile quality but I do know there are Little Earthquake LP's that are heavier, thicker vinyl - called 180 gram. Made to withstand a beating... like... say... a DJ might give? I have but one LE LP and its one of my treasures as it was signed by Tori back in the day. I would like to get a sealed 180 gram and prolly will someday. Just for fun compare eil's prices with some you find on eBay or Energy Music, I think you'll see what I mean. Aimee - ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2001 17:29:53 EST From: Dracovixen@aol.com Subject: Tori Album So, who's excited about the extremely good possibility of a new Tori album this year? I know I am! :) Some people have been surprised, as we all knew she was pregnant, then had a baby, and now a new album so soon! The way I figure it, when Tori found out she was pregnant, she probably was told to relax and take it easy. After all, she's a small person who has already had one miscarriage. So, she had a few months to write new material! And after the baby got a little older, (she has to be what, about 5 months now, and they're supposed ot start recording at the end of February, so then she'd almost be 6 months), she could record all the new material she wrote! So, I think it is very possible for her to have done all this. And being pregnant and having the baby I'm sure provided A LOT of inspiration for her. Of course, it hasn't been confirmed that it is new material. But if it was a "best of" album (which would suck), or the collection of b-sides she always wanted to do, why would Matt Chamberlain be going to record with her (check out his official site)? It could be the movie score...but I didn't think Matt would be helping her on that. So, I've decided that it certainly can be and most likely will be new material. I'd settle for a movie score, and a collection of b-sides would be ok, I guess. I can't see Tori doing a best of album. Anyway, just had to share my thoughts!
