She'd have to shoot it largely from scratch first. They have little of the concerts on video. Having said that, I know there were at least a *few* shows over the past two tours that were in venues which had live, single-camera video feeds going out to the lobby or concourse areas. The NJPAC show of 11/25/98, Indy on 11/30/98 and Cincinnati on 9/14/99 come immediately to mind. (She did Flying Dutchman, When Sunny Gets Blue and Famous Blue Raincoat in Indy, too. Is THAT on videotape someplace? The mind boggles.) I have to wonder how many such feeds were captured on tape. I imagine the venue owners would be crucified if such things ever leaked out, but in the back of my mind I keep wondering if they might exist and if something could be made of them one day. Now, combined with the final two plugged '98 shows shot with the static camera from behind the main mixing console, maybe the Hard Rock Live . . . There I go again. Just slap me. Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. There is this difference between happiness and wisdom, that he that thinks himself the happiest man really is so; but he that thinks himself the wisest is generally the greatest fool. --Charles Caleb Colton (1780-1832) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Sep 2000 20:21:21 +1200 From: karen hester Subject: faq format >From: the real dick cheney .......... >so, on the start page, you might see a list of question words (who, what, >where, how, why) which are hyperlinked to pages with more detailed >questions. for example, clicking on "who" on the start page might bring you >to a list of people that you might be wondering about (mark hawley, eric >rosse, joel, beene, etc.). each name would link to a paragraph or two about >them. The original Dent criticism from [JN?] included the complaint that it isn't enough like an encyclopaedia. This might be a good starting point. They also complained that the Dent required them to link offsite to find info, but duplicating the contents of sites in a FAQ is excessive work, especially with the updating needed. Linking directly to the page which answers a specific question might appeal to someone who wants answers NOW but that isn't necessarily fair on the person who created the site. Do you think it is better to structure a super-faq around the total World of Tori Knowledge & Stuff, ie a listing of the topics, or to base the faq around the questions which newbies approach this Knowledge & Stuff from? On one hand, though people are familiar with the format of encyclopaedias, it can be difficult for many to translate their question into the category which holds their answer. But if it is organised by questions, people can phrase the same thing in so many ways and that's confusing when it is a big faq. Where or who or what are nicely inbetween organising it around questions and answers but they get me muddled - tours are a what, but their setting is a where, and are Tori's songs perhaps who's?! karen. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V5 #216 *************************************
