I'm writing in response to her calling someone lazy for inquiring about finding "Here, in My Head". This sort of inquiry is not at all out of place on this list. I;m sure Maria has tori resources coming out of her ears--this does not mean everyone else is as aware of where to find such information. it is entirely bourgeois to assume that evryone who has some sort of access to e-mail also has unlimited time and awareness to use other aspects fo the internet. yes, this list is limited to discussion about Tori amos and asking about a "rare" tori track certainly is fitting. maria, your e-mail about laziness was harsh and judgmental and i'm uncomfortable with YOUR post to the list. thanks for reading adam ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2000 12:17:31 GMT From: "*ShaDy FeLiNE*" Subject: Re: The Name I too looked up the names, and while I didn't find ANYTHING on Lórien, I did unearth a particularly interesting tidbit on NATASHA - it's root name is ANASTASIA. Baby 2 Hi ya EWF ~ OK, since we have some nay sayers here lets get technical. The adage of a woman being pregnant 9 months is a layman's term, not medical nor scientific. But for arguments sake lets play along with the 9 months idea. Given that there are usually 4 weeks in a month and 4 X 9 would then equal 36. Upon detection of due date, through veli sampling or amniocentesis, the birth of a gestational 36 week baby would be considered 4+ weeks premature. Blood tests would be done to check if the baby had sufficient surfactant in the lungs to sustain independent normal breathing. Chances are it would since a 4+ weeks preemie is usually fairly stable. Pregnancy is strictly a biological endeavor based on splitting cells that create life. The Gregorian calendar that was the basis for our current 12 months, 365 day year is not based on the reproduction cycle of humans. It is for that reason Dr's do not count months. After diagnosing pregnancy a Dr asks the woman when her last menstrual period began and adds 15 days. The minus middle of a woman's cycle is considered optimum time for fertilization to occur, thus the 15 days after the START of her last cycle. A first baby is usually gestational 40 weeks and 5 days + or - - 3. Second, third, etc., pregnancies are typically 39 weeks 6 days + or - 2. To say that because Tori delivered her precious baby girl on September 5th she must have become pregnant December 5th is a misnomer. Woman who deliver full term are pregnant more than 9 months. I'll tell you this though, as a Mom who carried 3 kids, one through the summer heat, you don't even want to think it's over 9 months! But it is. Hell! We should be glad it's only 9+ months, elephants are preggers 2 freaken years! LOL!!! Tori could have delivered her babe early and gotten pregnant in December or she could have had to endure 10 months and become pregnant early November. I doubt if we will ever know, it's none of our business. As a personal side note my second child was born 2.5 weeks late. They knew exactly when I was to deliver (amniocentesis - the wonders of science), and that day came and went with no signs of labor. After 2 weeks the Dr asked me to choose a date to induce. I picked the following Friday so my husband wouldn't have to lose much work. They induced and I delivered a 13 lb 6 oz. baby girl. Why this pregnancy had to be induced while the others didn't I haven't a clue. But so it goes. Sorry for rambling. LOL!
