There are plenty of books out there that give detailed accounts of Tori's biographical information as well as a discography of her full album, EP, and single releases both in the US and Europe. If you "need" a Tori encyclopedia, try one of these books, whose authors are actually making money on digging this stuff up, rather than insisting that a single man be your all-encompassing Tori oasis. I think it's rather arrogant to tell him that the path he's decided to take with his site is ridiculous It is perfectly within his rights to do as little or as much as he desires as he's under NO obligation to ANYONE to even have the site available at all. I'm sure that Mike's decision to keep the site strictly as a news forum has to do with the fact that it's surely hugely time-consuming even at this level of involvement and one does surely still need to earn a living in addition to one's hobbies. As far as being linked up, the dent does include a lengthy listing of other Tori sites available on the net, as does Yahoo! if you simply type in Tori Amos. I believe in your right to express your opinion about something, but demanding that someone else do all your legwork for you is simply ludicrous. I'm surprised you don't already have your own all-knowing Tori site in the works. Why isn't? that's absolutely ridiculous to just keep it as a news forum when you have the means & all-access to provide all-around detailed info. who else hates site-hopping when trying to piece together info that could easily be placed on one site, instead of combing thru links or being linked up to what-have-u? - -AJ _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Its really very interesting to see what different people think of Tori and how its reflected in their websites. I at first found the Dent vast, full of info, but once you spend time there, it becomes easier and quicker to find stuff, and you realize its a very important, reliable Tori Amos website. So spend some time on the dent, and click on other links so you can discover tori for yourself! A good song interpertations site which I found on my journeys is www.execpc.com/~jluck/tori.html Happy surfing! His name is Ian Gabriel. He is a leo just like me and Tori. I ended up with a VERY eclectic mix for my labor tape (if you recall I was asking for suggestions earlier). The two Tori songs I used were Take to the Sky and Voodoo. I decided to pick songs that spoke to me on that gut level and not worry about how "appropriate" they were for the labor room. For example, I also had Black Sabbath, James Brown, and Kattel Kenig on the same tape! If you are curious: I was hoping to do labor drug-free, but no such luck. When the pain got bad I started puking between every contraction, and I could only take so much of that. I got some synthetic morphine first...and then had my hubby put on Miles Davis...I was VERY STONED. Then that wore off and the puking started again and I gave up and got an epidural. Which isnt as great as everyone told me they would be. But that is another story. My baby was born and that is all that matters! Daisy Melanie loopgaroo@g2a.net Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Deal with it. "Women must understand that simply attacking or hating all men is just another form of disempowerment. A woman has to realize that when she makes a man crawl it doesn't give her power. All it will do is make her puke eventually. Rather than say "all men are bastards" let's say "all men are infants, until they decide to be men." Calling them bastards is boring at this stage." - -Tori Amos ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2000 19:24:48 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: versions At 02:35 AM 8/30/00 -0400, JNe9027355@aol.com wrote: >In a message dated 8/29/2000 10:38:58 PM Pacific Daylight Time, >owner-precious-things-digest@smoe.org writes: ><< To unsubscribe from either version of precious-things please > follow these simple steps. > >> >2 different versions? which is this then? sorry if im misunderstanding... The two different "versions" of the list are the digest version (that is, all the posts to the list are sent to subscribers in one big message), and the bounce version (that is, all the posts to the list are sent to subscribers individually). There is no difference in content. They're the same list, just two different means of delivery. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2000 19:32:11 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: CD-R's At 08:38 PM 8/29/00 +0100, Danny.Weddup wrote: >a few days ago, /nad wrote: >'You can tell a CD-R by the color of the back of >the disc. However, a pre-release of the disc may be a CD-R. Back when vinyl was king, these were referred to as "acetates" because that's the material they were made out of. Acetates are -extremely- limited print runs to make sure that everything is okay. Now that vinyl is out and CDs are in, they make CD--Rs like this. There are usually very few made, although it's impossible to know how many. In general, these CD-R "acetates" [1] are not shipped out to radio stations. /nad [1] I know it's an abuse of the term to call a CD-R an "acetate", but that seems to be the accepted industry practise. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2000 19:55:57 -0400 From: Michael Curry Subject: Re: versions At 02:35 AM 8/30/00 -0400, JNe9027355@aol.com wrote: > >In a message dated 8/29/2000 10:38:58 PM Pacific Daylight Time, >owner-precious-things-digest@smoe.org writes: > ><< To unsubscribe from either version of precious-things please > follow these simple steps. > >> > >2 different versions? which is this then? sorry if im misunderstanding... >-AJ Bounce version, in which all the posts arrive in your inbox as separate emails, and digest version, in which all the posts are gathered into one large email that arrives in your inbox once a day (or more often in those rare instances when the list traffic is extremely high).
