For starters, the Dent is the Tori site with the most info. Not only that, but it's updated constantly and acuratly. If it isn't satisfying for you, then sorry but you are not going to find one that will be, since it is the best one. Furthermore, the creator and maintanor of The Dent is on this list...it's not just coinsidence that Mike Why appears on this list and also on The Dent, it's the same person. And if orginazation is your problem, incresing your inteligence and using the menu bar at the top of the page might help. Mike- I personally love your site. And like everyone else on this list thank you for all the work you have/are doing on it. Saying it's a joke is a joke. You try fitting that much info on one site. Whoa, wasn't that a bit rude? Make your own website and see if you can do better, why don't you? Mike's site is -the number one- Tori site when it comes to information. If you actually learned to look through it, you wouldn't be asking three-quarters of the questions you've been asking on the list, which it seems you need answers to just "oh-so-urgently". Think before you post something so inane and ridiculous. Yes, that post pissed me off. Robyn. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Raspberry Swirl (the extended sticky vocal remix i think thats the name) 7.Talula (the remix thats last the last track on the Talula single) 8.Amazing Grace/Till the Chicken 9.Do it Again 10.Cooling Can anyone tell me what I have on my hands here?? Isn't it standard procedure for a live show to not include information on where each individual track was taken from? Glancing quickly through my collection, I don't think any of the live albums that I have mention which show each individual track is from. This isn't to say that I wouldn't like the information, but I don't necessarily fault Tori and/or Atlantic for not including it. I have to wonder how many people, beyond completist freaks like you and me :) , really care where the tracks come from. /nad ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Aug 2000 11:31:29 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: newbie in need of advice! The >track listing is as follows : CD-R bootlegs [1] are worth nothing more than the cost of a blank CD-R. You shouldn't pay more than a few bucks for it. Many people on the Tori-boot mailing list will make you CD-R copies for just the cost of the blank CD, a case, artwork, and shipping. If you paid more than US$10, you got ripped off. /nad [1] That is, a bootleg that was made by a fan (or, as is the case with most (all?) boots on eBay, some asshole who is trying to turn a quick buck by ripping off Tori's work). You can tell a CD-R by the color of the back of the disc. A true CD (one pressed by a company) will be silver, whereas a CD-R (one made by a fan with their computer) will be blue, green, or gold. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Aug 2000 23:18:27 EDT From: NETG0DESS@aol.com Subject: JNE's asinine posts JNE, First Id like to start of by saying the dent is *the Most* and *the best* tori site there is. I am grateful that he puts the time and devotion he does into it because it provides all of us with a wealth of tori knowledge that would otherwise be unavailable. I dont see how it could be better organized with the huge amounts of information he has. For you to come here and call it a joke is disrespectful and just plain fucked up. That being said, instead of you coming on here and bombarding us with your petty little questions, without any introductions, thank yous, and then demanding urgent repsonses is just wrong too. You could easily find the answers to your questions by doing a little research of your own; most of which can in fact be answered on the dent. Im always more than happy to help out fellow newbies in anyway I can, but you are just plain annoying and demanding. And if I come off as a bitch or whatnot, I could care less. I feel its about time someone set you a little straight. Mikewhy, keep up the damn good work you do on the dent, I am truly grateful. ~~MaRia Wanna Trade? It is one of the most frequently updated pages that I have found and it has practically any kind of information that you could ever want to know about Tori. This site is a joke....I'm sorry but that has to be one of the most humorous things that I have ever heard. wendi >> i agree that the dent is the online mecca for tori, yes. i dont think anyone is saying that it isnt. but i also agree with AJ that it is difficult to find exactly what you're looking for. then again, I dont think anyone else could have organized those thousands and thousands of info chunks into a website at all, so i think mikewhy did a pretty damn good job at it. especially with the redo. good job. "Urgently"? You're telling me your life depends on the answer to your Tori question? Honey, if that's the case, call your local Mental Health Department and ask for some assistance. They'll be happy to help you out. If you need something "urgently", then a mailing list likely isn't what you need. With a trivial amount of work on your part, you can find the answer to your question. There are a multitude of FAQs out there about Tori. And you'll get it faster than posting to Precious Things, given that it's moderated and thus posts only make it out to the subscription base twice or thrice a day. >i dunno why, but when it comes to essential tori queries no one can >give u a flatout answer. >being a new phile, this pisses me off tremendously. No. We believe that "Christmas in Space" is actually the subtitle for "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". The folks at EastWest accidentally gave "Purple People" the "Christmas in Space" subtitle because they're incompetent. /nad ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V5 #196 *************************************
