(i was two heads away from tori, wich is actually NOT the clsoest ive ever gotten to her..hehe) i must say that everybody down in the "pit" area was dancing and laughing and screaming, just like at a rock concert. i think that of course it had something to do with the music being a little bit more louder and funkier than, say, a DDI tour show would have been. i think that tori's fans (most of them anyways) have learned to deal with their confidance levels, and quite a few aren't afraid to bsut a move during a great live song! i know i wasn't! thats my input! i have both of my full concert reviews (plus my own meet and greet pictures, and autogrpah scans) on my website at http://fadeddreams.net/garnet if you are interested in more... hi everybody i havent said hi to in a while! Tori concerts. I think that if you're not in the first 2 rows, most people just sit, COMPLETELY MESMERIZED, so mesmerized by WATCHING her, you really cannot will yourself to get up and dance. I mean, you can always dance to your CDs at home, but to go to a Tori concert is like having an out-of-body experience. You are just in a trance the entire time. The people who rush the stage have to stand, of course, but mainly, they just stand there, hoping to make eye contact with the goddess. It is just a huge love outpouring for Tori. If I were Tori, I'd be freaked out by what seems like WORSHIP. I mean, she is human, but at a concert, it's so difficult to conceive that she is because the experience is so phenomenal and "other-worldly". When I attended the Tori/Alanis tour, people danced during Alanis's set because she was up there dancing and spinning, and it just made you want to groove with her. But with Tori, she stares at you, and you feel compelled to stare back. It's like you and she are trying to read each other's minds. Almost EVERYONE who's ever been in the front probably feels that at some time or another, that she was looking directly at them, singing to them, PERSONALLY. I've experienced it. I know Richard has. I couldn't believe what it felt like. I thought, "Can she really see me, beaming at her, sending her the most positive, loving mental messages I can?" I really felt like she looked directly at ME to sing some of her numbers. And everyone up front feels the same way-- whether she did or not is beside the point-- she makes you feel that way. It is SUCH a PERSONAL experience. You come away thinking that you and she connected on some personal level. Her concerts are like none I've ever experienced before. I would actually feel like I was being rude if I got up to dance during Tori's set-- rude to the people around me (some of which are crying tears of joy) and rude to Tori-- although during Raspberry Swirl, I do remember the audience getting to their feet to wiggle their behinds, but no one could take their eyes off of Tori, so it was very half-assed dancing. haha I can't wait to experience that again. - -jen ===== "Most social problems diminish in proportion to open and honest communication between conflicting segments of society." -Anand Malik, philosopher "Do I contradict myself?
