I watched her sign a copy of "Tori Stories" last year. I've seen other artists turn down boots though. Sheryl Crow stopped signing when this guy tried to get her to sign a boot when I met her. But, I have seen Tori sign a bootleg, so, my guess is that this could be authentic. Has anyone If memory serves, I remember a couple of occasions on the Plugged tour in the UK where people offered Tori boots to sign, but Joel refused to let her (probably to get her out of the position of having to say no to the fan herself) - but there's always the possibility that Tori has signed a couple of boots. It's hard to tell - there's no picture here, and the auction's closed, so it's a moot point, really. Where do all you guys/girls hear these rumours about Neil-related shtuff? >> well he did write the sandman series to begin with :) its just that he has chosen not to be involved in the movie ... but i heard (from my boyfriend, who read it somewhere) that he read the latest script and was happy with it ... so thats good :) here's a quote from him about it "Neil Gaiman: "Sandman" movie. Well, there is a script, and a director (Roger Avary) attached ... I wish them well, although I'm not involved (by my own wish.) No-one should be expected to barbecue their own baby. " actually there are a bunch of his stories being made into movies and tv series ... there is a script for the short story "Snow Glass Apples" and this is from neilgaiman.com "In his address to fans and members of the media, Gaiman announced that he has signed a contract to both write and direct a screen version of his graphic novel series DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING for Warner Brothers. This will be Mr. Gaiman's first assignment as director for a major Hollywood studio. He also announced that he and artist Dave McKean are working with Sunbow Entertainment (creators of 'The Tick' animated cartoon) to create an animated television series based on their children's book, THE DAY I SWAPPED MY DAD FOR TWO GOLDFISH. In further developments, Gaiman stated that Miramax Films has bought the film rights to CHIVALRY, a short story published in the SMOKE AND MIRRORS (Avon Books, 1998) collection, and he noted that a major (and very surprising) announcement would be made about a director for the project in the near future." Also he has just sold Good Omens to be made into a movie or something ... here is the latest news on the current projects from "the neil gaiman collection website" Denise Di Novi is producing NEVERWHERE Neverwhere is at Jim Henson Films, which is at Sony. Current Status of Sandman: A new script has been rumored to have been handed in. Neil hasn't seen it, and doesn't know what it's about, and knows no more than this. He's not involved. Current Status of Death: no news. Neil handed in a treatment about a year ago. He hasn't heard anything back yet. There are indications that things may restart on this, but we'll see. Current status of Books of Magic: encouraging. Neil would be Exec. Producing this, not writing it or directing. so theres lots of exciting stuff going on for neil :) its almost overwhelming. these are 3 really good websites that have neil news: www.neilgaiman.com NeilGaiman.com www.holycow.com/dreaming Click here: The Dreaming: The Neil Gaiman Page http://www.nightwalker.net/ngcframe.htm Click here: The Neil Gaiman Collection kisses, joanne~* ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 05 Aug 2000 17:57:57 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: ToriCon RAINN auction (URGENT!)
