Hi everyone, I'm new to this list, a week or so new and I just read in another's post about Tori being pregnant...I know how this happened, but when? That's so wonderful to hear, I wish her all the best...I feel like I was being on top of things with her, and then I find out this, WOW! Okay, by the way...My name is SCoTT from PHilly, I'm 22...Nice to be on this list and goodbye for now...SCoTT ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2000 21:56:36 EDT From: "Liquid Pie" Subject: Re: hi all tori videos >hi all >does anyone here have the tori amos litle eathquakes >video and the 1991 to 1998 tori amos collections video >are they good i havent seen them before and i want to >order but i want to see what they are >just wanted to know what the videos are like concert >wise or music video wise >thanks in advance >silverdadaartist@yahoo.com I don't have the concert video but I have the 91-98 tape. It's good, it's definantly worth it...it's only $20 or so. The only videos I had seen prior to the tape were Jackie's Strength, Raspberry Swirl (both on the JS single), and Spark and curiousity was killing me so I had to buy it. Personally, I didn't like any of the videos from Little Earthquakes and Past the Mission bored me...oh dear, I think I can hear the people coming to jump down my throat for saying all that :-) - -- liquid pie ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Jul 2000 03:57:08 EDT From: JNe9027355@aol.com Subject: No pro-widow vid? LOL); kill her spirit and then make her your slave. get out of my garden, indeed! super creepy. Hell, it's such a well respected publication >it's even sold at Tori Amos Direct. Out of print doesn't mean that it's rare or that it is extremely collectible. The US Winter single is out of print, too, but there are more of those things in existence than there are rats in New York sewers. >BTW, does anyone know of any person >possessing a snowglobe? (pg 106) Yes. The picture in the Collectibles book is taken from the T.O.R.I. webpage, and is owned by Greg Burrell (who is, the last I looked, now the news editor of the fanzine Really Deep Thoughts). Ingested it's effects are hallucinogenic &/or fatal. It's related closely to Belladonna. And, also like Belladonna if you ingest too much say Sianara Sweetheart! My 13 year old wondered aloud while we were looking at the info on DATURA if Tori wasn't telling the DATURA to "get out of my garden"??? Interesting idea. DATURA can grow anywhere in any soil. It has lovely flowers. We saw the opening screen for the site and it triggered something in me... awhile later it came to my forebrain - we have this stuff growing wild not far from my house. I had remembered a friend telling me the pretty white flowers over there are poisonous but I, of course, had no idea what it was. I just told my kids to stay away. Now I know it's a variety of DATURA. Click below for a website that will be all you'll ever need to know and more than enough to scare you. Can you believe people take this stuff on purpose? Go figure! DATURA OK, now on to Tori ~ I have both the Complete Video's and the Little Earthquake Video. They are both made video's of Tori traipsing about MTV, VH1, MoreMusic type style, no live performances. Want one with live performances? Try the Live in New York Video. It's available at Tori Amos direct and at most larger music stores. The Sam Goody/Warehouse by me always seems to have a couple in stock. I believe Virgin records carries it as well. Of course you can always get one online at Amazon or try eBay - that's where I got all of mine. As far as understanding the video's well, I appreciate them for their artistic quality. Something so very creative like Glory Of the 80's impresses me so much - maybe it's the darkness, the special effects not really seen in her video's & the wings. On the other hand the Past the Mission video is more thought provoking in its simple imagery with Tori and a buncha women standing up to the male dominated church. Caught a Lite Sneeze is gorgeous, Raspberry Swirl odd - who is that weird little kid? God is so alive with all those creatures, my son loves that one. Jackie's Strength draws me in I think because we see Tori look so young at the end. Neither Cornflake Girl vids appeal to me too much. I love 'em 'cause they are Tori and she looks like she had fun making them, but that's about all. Hey Jupiter is a side of Tori we don't see often I think, stunning! 1000 Oceans and Pretty Good Year are lovely, Talula amazing and Spark is so emotionally disturbing I sometimes have trouble watching it without looking away. Crucify is fun - not what I would have envisioned the sings vid to be. China is visually calming & highly creative. Winter I get a sense was Tori's concept and is intensely personal to her as is probably the best video of all - Silent All These Years. OK, did I get them all? If I could pick two from each CD she did not do a vid for they would be: Etienne and Fire On The Side from YKTR, Me & a Gun and Tear in Your Hand from LE, Space Dog and The Waitress from UTP, Father Lucifer and Putting the Damage On from BFP, Cruel and She's Your Cocaine from FTCGH, Riot Poof & Juarez from TVAB and if I could pick 2 Bee's and/or covers they would be Sugar and Thank You.
