Hello everyone, This might sound a little strange, and maybe I'm just a zealous toriphile freak now, but I had an awesome dream about Tori last night. Its not the first I had, but it was still magical. I was wondering if any of you out there had had similar experiences. Just curious... ~~MaRia Wanna Trade? I have had that same goal in mind, and let me tell you that a year and a half, about $700 and nearly 50 CDs later I'm still not there. In fact, I'm not even close. Anyway, you should find this site very helpful: http://www.macd.ukgateway.net/tori/index.htm It's called Collecting Tori. If you go to the rmta or uk price guides, it has all of her releases divided by album era. It not only lists them all, but gives rather useful information on everything. Hope it was of some help. :-) Jeremy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Jul 2000 22:00:29 +0100 From: "Danny.Weddup" Subject: Tori's videos Hello everyone I've just got back from school camp, and I am spectacularly sunburnt. I'm happy though because it was an amazing week.....we went swimming at the beach, rented pedalos, cycled everywhere......I'm still on a bit of a high. Anyway, onto the Tori part. While I was away, my dad taped me a programme off Channel 4 about the music video director Mark Romanek. It featured his videos for Fiona Apple's Criminal, Nine Inch Nails' Closer, Macy Gray's I Try, Eel's Novocain For the Soul, and some more. They were all stunning. It got me wondering how Tori chooses the directors of her videos. I think that Mark Romanek would be the ideal director for her...I can just imagine a video for Suede...classy, black and white, futuristic, streamlined. He did the video for Janet and Michael Jackson's Scream too. I really like Tori's videos, don't get me wrong. It's just that a few of them, for me, don't really seem to suit the song. Glory of the 80's for instance? Caught a Lite Sneeze had a visually stunning video, but I can see no connection with the song whatsoever. Anyway, I'd love to know more about her video's and directors. I never really hear much about them. Bye, Danny PS- how come Tori never made a video for Concertina? ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Jul 2000 13:41:56 EDT From: "Liquid Pie" Subject: Re: >Can anyone here tell me all the singels that are made >from each album era? >I am trying to collect all of her singles and its >harder for me cuz i am 15 and i wasnt old enough when >her older albums and rare singles came out. It lists all the albums and singles, US and otherwise. I don't know how much it is, probably $20 or so...I've seen it at Barnes and Noble but you might be able to find it cheaper on amazon.com. Ebay prolly has people trying to sell singles or check half.com. I personally don't know anything about Ebay, but I'm sure someone here on the list does. - -- liquid pie ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Jul 2000 02:58:50 EDT From: Mysterilady2001@cs.com Subject: Re: Liquid Diamonds Lyrics Hi ya EWF: Re: Liquid Diamonds: I recently acquired a book with the lyrics to 84 Tori songs. The book covers from LE through TVAB + B sides and covers. The only release not represented is YKTR, which is a bummer for me. Now whether the book is complete or accurate I am not sure because it is so new I haven't had the chance to fully review it. OK, this is what the book says the Liquid Diamonds lyrics are in question: "I guess I'm an underwater thing" <- We already know this line so I'll start here. OK, NOW the final verse not in the FTCGH CD booklet: "I go I go inside her shell I see it so and you're doing oh so well these days You do it again and I say it's coming back again Something like the Saturdays such was it Can he bring me those jeans Keep it back Daddy's done preaching in to himself Keep it just between us It's liquid Liquid Liquid" The question seems to be over the word "culling"... right? OK, I looked up the word culling and came to this factual data from the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary: cull: Function: transitive verb Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French cuillir, from Latin colligere "to bind together". Date: 13th Century Cull is also closely linked with the words Choose and Elect. Helpful? My problem is I can't even see where anyone sees (interpret that to be: hears) cull in Liquid Diamonds at all. The only place I can think of is the following line which is actually given in the CD's booklet and in the lyrics book: "Calling for my soul at the corners of the world" Is this the line you are referring to? Or am I totally out of the loop? Same goes for pearls. I don't hear that either. If anyone would like scans of a particular songs lyrics you can send me an email and I'd be happy to help. The book contains lots of lyrics for songs difficult to find lyrics to like Merman, Alamo, Mary & Beulah Land.
